of Arabic if you're interested in politics and modern history I highly recommend ALL Mohamed Hassanein Heikal books
of novels I recommend Naguib Mahfouz mostly
There's also Anis Mansour who writes of personal experiences articles, travel books, metaphysics and community social issues, he's VERY interesting but he makes up stuff a lot! like he writes when he's high
have you read anything for Ahmed Khaled Tawfik? he's one of my favourites
and I'm yet to try Abbas El Akkad and Taha Hussein
