The last days saw several meetings for ‘Formazione Juventus’, the project dedicated to Juventus Youth Sector, which allows all lads to meet the First Team champions and learn from them how to become men before professional footballers.
After Claudio Marchisio, main figure of yesterday’s meeting with Esordienti ’99, today Leonardo Bonucci dressed the part of teacher in front of Esordienti 2000, telling them about his debut and all sacrifices he had to sustain in order to gain his position: “When I was 17 years old, I was selected to join Inter. I was playing at Viterbese and living in a small town, and as soon as I arrived in Milan I felt a bit confused. I missed my family and my friends. But then, I thought about all the efforts I made to achieve that objective: my life had been school, training and home for many years, travelling by bus and always alone. I couldn’t miss that chance, so I hanged in there.”
No fear of hard work and respect for all opponents. This is the right way in order to grow up: “At the very beginning, when I was at Viterbese, I played forward – explained Leonardo – We often faced important teams, and I was always given shivers on those occasions. I remember a coach who, before playing Roma, told me not to be afraid: we were eleven lads, exactly like they were. At the beginning of the match we went three goals behind, but then we reversed the result overcoming them 4-3… with a hat trick from Bonucci…”.
