Bologna’s home form has been the key to the Rossoblu keeping their heads above water so far this season, having recorded 17 points at the Dall’Ara. These have been amassed courtesy of five wins, two draws and six defeats.*

Their campaign didn’t get off to the best of starts, however, as they slipped to three straight defeats on home soil. Goals from Giaccomazzi and Grossmuller handed Lecce all three points in the second game of the championship season.

A brief fightback saw Diamanti level up Pazzini’s opener in their next home fixture against Inter, but the Nerazzurri clinched victory through strikes from Milito and Lucio. Another home defeat then followed against Lazio after Acquafresca turned into his own net and Lulic added a second.

The Rossoblu finally gave their home public something to cheer about by beating Atlanta 3-1 towards the end of October. Denis sent nerves jangling by opening the scoring for the visitors after just seven minutes. But Di Vaio, Ramirez and Loria conjured up a rousing response to the visitors’ impressive start.

Yet the revival proved to be short lived, as Cesena ran out late winners in the regional derby. Parolo’s long-range effort, six minutes from time, was enough to secure local bragging rights for the Seahorses.

Bologna dusted themselves down and overcame Siena in their next home fixture. A single strike from Di Vaio saw off the Tuscan outfit. And the impressive displays continued as defending champions Milan were pegged back in Emilia-Romagna. Di Vaio was again on the scoresheet before Diamanti rescued a point after the Rossoneri had edged in front.

Roma provided the next opposition in what proved to be a tough afternoon for Pioli’s side. First-half strikes from Taddei and Osvaldo continued the Giallorossi’s solid run of form.*

The Rossoblu’s last home games have yielded three wins (Catania, Fiorentina and Novara), a goalless draw with Parma and a 3-1 defeat against Udinese.
