Before i give my opinion on the match, I d like to say a few things first
The ref was not very impressive today at all as for the first time in ages, I feel we did not get some of the decisions except maybe for the very controversial 5mins added on time which was ridiculous and a penalty he might have given against Pessotto
Also this is a game we did not deserve to lose as we played admirably especially in the second half
For those who were suggesting resting players, well Lippi did it a bit but thankfully did not overdo it as we would have surely got an a$$ whooping
Lets give praise where praise is due, Bologna were great and defended very well until the last minute where Zaccardo made an almighty mistake
Lippi, Lippi, Lippi my good friend, once again he almost put us in trouble yet again with mind bungling decisions
Iuliano is a bloody liability and if i was in charge, his time will be up as he was terrible all night
Starting with Pessotto on the left and Zambrotta on the right was the wrong decision as well as they were both bad in those positions not until Zambrotta moved to the left did he become very effective
Starting with Zalayeta above Di Vaio was not something I would have done but having done that, he brought on Di vaio but to everyones amazement he took of pessotto and decided to play Zalayeta on the right
At this point we were on top with Nedved causing all sorts of trouble on the left but with Zambrotta in that position, Zala on the right, Nedved lost his way and we just lost our focus
But the mother of all bad substitutionshad to be taking off Davids to be replaced by Conte which made absolutely no sense what soever
In the end we went 2 goals down with a sublime chip from Locatelli who when he came on the crowd were giving Guodilin stick for taking off Signori and as soon as Locatelli scored, Guodilin was almost cussing the crowd
We then had a speculative shot by Zambrotta which Paramatti back heeked into his net though he was unlucky and off cos Camoranesi's equaliser
This is a game we could and should have won but Lippi again has to take the blame just as he did against Barcelona with his ineffective substitutions
Dp is not looking sharp at all and he was getting on my nerves with his slowing the pace down and waiting for the ball to come to him instead of going to the ball hence allowing defenders to nick it off him, recently he has been suffering against Bologna and he feels he should have scored twice in the game though he did alright in the end
As someone said Iuliano should be shown the door, and I am sorry to say this but on this showing Conte has very little to offer us , the same goes for Pessotto
Zalayeta is not blessed with football talent but he did try his best
Our defence gives cause for headache and its sad that a 36 year old like Ferrara is the best central defender we have
Thuram was excellent, Davids was not gr8 but did not deserve to be subbed infact it was unnecessary
But Lippi should be grateful to the fighting spirit of his side as we got out of jail as there was a time the young frenchman in Bolognas side was one on one with Buffon to make it 3-1 but he choked
But we did not deserve to lose and I am happy we did not
