My cousins were over some days ago.No one wanted to go out as it was too cold, and no one was in the mood of watching a movie at home either. So we decided to take out out the dust covered board games that we hadnt touched in eons:xmas: ..Monopoly,Pictionary and Risk it was.I hadnt played these games in the longest time, but the rules were pretty fresh in my mind.I went bankrupt at Monoply:money: in record time, but i made up for it at Risk and Pictionary, especially the latter:cool: ..and it was quite a bit of fun!Now ive made it a point to play a board game whenever everyone is over, and ive found the Dice Magic back:smoke:

I think board games have lost their charm like anything. With PCs and gaming consoles n shit, board games have probably become a part of ancient history now...So,any people out there who still play board games?

Yes, definetly, especially on family parties. The best board games IMO are the ones which make you think or move a lot. But if you play a really complicated game, everyone should be into it or it will begin to suck sooner or later.

Well you are German and the Germans are well known for the love of board games (unlike what Seven believes or tries to be funny).

I play a lot of board games mainly ones with general knowledge questions or strategic ones. I haven't played Monopoly in ages but we did play a game last week and I lost as usual.

I want to buy Ticket to Ride and Portobello Market.

I recommend Settlers and Puerto Rico too.

I used to play a lot of Frustration. Mostly for the popping dice it had in the centre of the square.

Made up a game on a drunken night with knives.

Thats why i enjoy Risk so much.Definatley my favourite board game.It appears to be relativley simple, but it does make you think a lot.

P.S.Ive never played Settlers. Is it something along the lines of Risk? You know, conquering territories etc?

No, it's nothing like Risk. it's a trade-based game. You get the resources in function of your positions, you trade them, grow bigger etc...

It's an attempt to indicate the Arab moronity and retardation "According to him".

I won't blame him though. It's us who have to be blamed.
It was a joke, no more, no less.

But there are some countries in the Arabic world that don't exactly strike me as shining beakons of democracy and development.

Back on topic: Risk is one hell of a game. I used to enjoy it very much.
