Summer arrival Richmond Boakye, included alongside Kwadwo Asamoah in Ghana’s starting line-up, was on target in the Black Stars’ 1-1 draw with China.
Back in Europe, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Reto Ziegler both featured for Switzerland in their 4-2 win over Croatia, while Mirko Vucinic was part of the Montenegro side that overcame Latvia 2-0.
Recently appointed Italy Under 21 coach Devis Mangia got his Azzurri career off to a positive start by leading his youngsters to a 3-0 victory over Holland. Three Bianconeri featured in the win: Luca Marrone, Alberto Masi and Fausto Rossi. Former youth academy prospect Ciro Immobile, currently plying his trade with Genoa, was among the goalscorers.
