blatter's comments are humiliating and insulting
to think that he's the president of FIFA!! such an insult!
Why? Mens players do everything to improuve their image, even when they are not so good looking they care about it a lot.
What's wrong if also girls start doing it, till they can still be free to have a choice?
BTW in others sport like tennis, athletic, volley, ecc... they already do it, and in Italy also in soccer...

I shall start to have a look to woman soccer ;)

And girls... do not complain... you packed trades with pictures and comments about Buffon, Del Piero, Inzaghi, ecc... look. What's wrong if we wuold like to do the same :D

I am saying it is insulting is because I have different views on this matter. I, being a lady, feel that showing off too much skin is inappropriate as I would prefer to reserve it until I get married. its more special that way. For example, if I have a million bucks cash , I wouldn't put it in a transparent bag. same thing with my body- or legs for this matter- I treasure it and I just don't flung it off.

so that's why I say it's insulting, at least it is to me. it depends on views, really as it varies. Just my opinion anyway.

Well if every girl will still have a choice to do what she feels like, I don't see nothing wrong...
Look at tennis, I don't think that's nothing offensive if some girl-players care about their image. And I am not talking just about beautiful-Russian-lolitas also champions (but not so good looking) like Martina Hingis used to weare nice outfits and care her's look. IMO it is a nice thing, also cause players like Davenport can still be famos without caring about those things...
The important thing is that every girl can have a choice of doing what she want...

woman footballer should wear..nothing...
afaic...woman football tends to be a boring game..
let's iamgine 22 players running naked on field..wow..what a sensation..
imagine that sally inzaghi chasing for a ball..naked
i'll attract more people to see a beautifulness of woman soccer..

perhaps "offensive" is the wrong term, yes women have their own rights to wear whatever they want but it just annoys me that blatter's comment is absolute proof that these days its all about exposing and not real talent. I dont know maybe I am being too serious perhaps, but take singing for instance- you expose few skins and there you get it. your voice doesn't matter. that's a bit low if you ask me. but then again, it's my opinion and any person can choose whatever they want to. :)

Yes you arew right on this, sport schould be just about talent... but nearly all the sport men and girls who became really famos, use to care about their image, that's for sponsors maily but also cause fans do care about it and we can have a lot of prouve also in this forum...
Anycase yes, Blatter schould avoid to say this cause IMO woman players who like to care about theire image are already doing it... and the others maybe don't care.

Isnt she just an actor tho and not actually a real girl footballer? I have to agree any girl footballers ive ever seen have been the a tad on the manly side for my liking :p

If, and I repeat IF it ever came down to women wearing hotpants, this is who I'd like to see in them.

Indeed, Serge, I am familiar with Heather...and the rest of that team isn't too bad either. Man, women's soccer players have great legs...
