yay?

Just looked it up...he's only 5'9 and 154 lbs? I thought the reason we couldn't play Marchisio - Pjanic in midfield was because Allegri wanted a strong physical/ ariel presence. He's shorter and smaller than both of them....
How big was Gattuso?

Just to add, i dont get why we are still going after this guy.

Height and size mean nothing. Look at Gattuso, Claud Mackelele, Davids etc.

i dont understand why you guys freak out over his age. we need someone to perform now, we already have Bentancur and Mandragora for the future + Pjanic is still relatively young at 27. this guy will bring something to this lethargic team that we dont have currently, energy and grinta, will run his ass off covering ground each game, make runs forward and track back (run, not jog) to our box when we lose possession, and will cost us a bargain of what, 25M? and reading this forum one would have the impression we are signing a Nocerino or KPB level player. i even read that Asamoah is superior to him here, which is flat out ridiculous. hes a top class player that has been starting at PSG with 3-4 different coaches for 5 seasons now, for the France NT too. this is definitely a great signing in my book
I agree even if he isnt the player i want he is still capable of make us a lot more solid.

I never said it made him less able to enforce on the field. In face I think Claudio could do the job, what I am saying is that I had heard Allegri specifically requested someone large and dominant in the air. Don't know if true

I don't if he requested a player like that but he said this after the Monaco game:

“It’s very simple. With Sami Khedira suspended and Monaco’s danger on the counter, I needed a player who could do more preventative marking. I also needed someone strong in the air like Barzagli, who had an extraordinary game, as Claudio Marchisio is not good with headers.”

So what if he is shorter. Davids was 5'5. Kante is 5'5. Both great DMs.

Just googled, Makelele was 5'5 too.

You want Fellaini or smth?

Marchisio has evolved and has become more of a creator/passer himself pretty much since Pirlo left. We need a dirty midfielder in the side who can do the dirty work covering the defensive backline with tackles etc.

In before, we got Sturaro for that. That guy puts in one good game in 2 years type of guy.
