It is not Bayerns folt that their league is week (compared to some other leagues) but it does give their domestic titles less weight.
Also, dont forget that being the only big club in Germany helps then when recruting Geramn talent because most german players want to move to Bajern to upgrade their carrears while in Italy, England and even Spain they can go to many different clubs.
Good point.

Because no matter what the league, the challenge is still the same for that team....

So it may be just as hard for Ajax to win the Eridivisie, or Lyon Ligue 1 as it is for Milan or Juve of old to win the Scudetto...

The size and difficulty of the league is exactly proportional to the strenth of the teams, so the strongest French team may be 4th or 5th in Serie A....so the leagues should not be multiplied needlessly.
It's just as difficult for the French to win the French league as it is Milan to win Italy. Because if you say the overall strength of the leagues is proportioned directly to the strength of teams in said leagues, then you should not need to multiply them. Multiplying them suggests that Lyon and Milan and Bayern are all equally as good as each other, the other teams just do not match up equally. That's not true. Bayern is better than Lyon, but not as good as Milan.....

This ends the debate about the strength of Bayern. If the Bundesliga is as weak as Dano says then surely Bayern's continued success in it is in stark contrast to teams from other such "weak" leagues, Celtic, Lyon etc & their CL victories are even more of an achievement.

As for Liverpool vs Arsenal the arguement is a non-starter. In a single post Dano wipes out Liverpools history as meaningles, following that up with saying Arsenal have bigger revenue, fan base etc. The Emirates stadium allows more fans to see Arsenal home games than Liverpool at Anfield, for the 1st time in years. Liverpools new stadium will put them back in front here. Consider also that Arsenals score in my original table would be 42 to Liverpools 78, or using The Burke Method(TM) 286 to Liverpools 496. If you still want to ignore history & start at the year 2001 for arguements sake, Liverpool have won 2 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, The Champions League, the UEFA Cup & 2 European Supercups. In the same period Arsenal have won 2 EPL titles, a fair way behind in anyones book.

Im no Liverpool fan by any stretch of the imagination, but the whole arguement is pointless & Deno is just lining himself up for hours of self-inflicted ridicule, who knows, maybe he likes it, but when he wakes up sore in the mornings, he'll know he's been Burke'd.........

Except Dano, everybody accepted the fact that Liverpool is a bigger club than Arsenal. Even the other Arsenal fan, Fred Weasley.

Someone finalize the Burke Method (TM) and stick it on Wikipedia, if we all vote or whatever the process is then... You know. Immortalizing him.

Corinthians FC

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corinthians_F.C.

Corinthians Football Club were a football team based in London playing at various venues including Crystal Palace and Queen's Club. They were founded in 1882 by N. Lane Jackson, assistant secretary of the Football Association, with the intention of developing a squad capable of challenging the supremacy of the Scotland football team and Queen's Park.

The team originally determined to play only friendly matches and often played other amateur clubs, especially teams in the London area. They also supplied large numbers of players to the England football team. During the 1880s, the majority of England caps against Scotland were awarded to Corinthians, and for two England matches against Wales in 1894 and 1895, the entire team was from the club. However, these records are not recognised by the FA, who point out that most Corinthians players had another primary club affiliation - in many cases one of the university sides.

Corinthians refused to join The Football League or to compete in the FA Cup due to one of their original rules forbidding the club to "compete for any challenge cup or prizes of any description." but finally competed in a competition in 1900 when they beat Aston Villa, then League champions, in the Sheriff of London Shield. They might have won the FA Cup many times if they had competed - for instance, shortly after Blackburn Rovers beat Queens Park in the 1884 final, Corinthians beat Blackburn 8-1. Similarly, Corinthians had a 10-3 win over ten of the Bury side that beat Derby County 6-0 in the 1903 final.

After joining the Amateur Football Association and being banned from playing the top home opposition, all of whom were members of The Football Association, the team increased its touring of the world, popularising football. Real Madrid adopted Corinthians' white shirts and Sport Club Corinthians Paulista in Brazil adopted their name. After a visit to Sweden in 1904, a Swedish tournament called the Corinthian Bowl was set up to commemorate them.

In 1904, Corinthians beat Manchester United 11-3, which remains United's biggest defeat. After World War I, the team began to compete in the FA Cup, but with limited success. They also played the 1927 Charity Shield, losing to Cardiff City 2-1.

In 1939, Corinthians amalgamated with the Casuals to form Corinthian-Casuals Football Club.

Corinthians' famous amateur players include the likes of Max Woosnam and C.B. Fry.

Let's.

Liverpool have won 2 FA Cups
Yes... and Arsenal have won the FA Cup 3 times since 2001. 01-02, 02-03 and 04-05. I think you "forgot" to mention that.

Not impressive.

The Champions League
A great achievment, of course.

I don't even remember who played in the finals of this lousy cup over the last few years. Not impressive.

2 European Supercups
Don't forget Charity Shield or Amsterdam Tournament.

****

With that said, not claiming Arsenal a bigger club than 'Pool. Not that it's really important. All I know is Arsenal play the better football and have done so since 1997. That's 10 years Arsenal been on top of Liverpool.
