Bielsa quits Argentina
Bielsa has battled hard to prove his critics wrong
Marcelo Bielsa has resigned as coach of Argentina less than a month after steering the country to Olympic gold.

"This decision is possibly the result of so many years of hassle," said Argentina Football Association president Julio Grondona on Tuesday.

Argentina suffered a disappointing first-round exit from the 2002 World Cup finals in South Korea and Japan.

But Bielsa guided the national team to the final of the Copa America in July as well as the Olympic title in Athens.

Grondona denied that former Boca Juniors coach Carlos Bianchi had already been named as Bielsa's replacement.
