The 16 Bianconeri called up by their respective countries are gearing up for an important weekend of international football.
Half of the Juventus contingent (Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Giaccherini, Marchisio, Pirlo, and Giovinco) will be involved in Italy’s World Cup 2014 qualification clash with Armenia.
Meanwhile Nicklas Bendtner’s Denmark - who are placed in the same group as Cesare Prandelli’s men - are to take on Bulgaria before meeting the Azzurri in Milan on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, Stephan Lichtsteiner’s Switzerland entertain Norway, while Mirko Vucinic’s Montenegro will have to wait until Tuesday before lining up against Ukraine.
Chilean duo Mauricio Isla and Arturo Vidal will aim to keep up the heat on high-flying Argentina when they face Ecuador tonight.
They will also be hoping that Bianconeri team-mate Martin Caceres, whose Uruguay take on the group leaders in Mendoza, can do them a favour by overcoming La Albiceleste.
Over in Africa, Kwadwo Asamoah’s Ghana meet Malawi in their final qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations. The Black Stars go into the encounter with a 2-0 lead from the first leg.
It’s also crunch time for Luca Marrone and the Italy Under-21s. The midfielder is expected to be in Devis Mangia’s starting line-up for the Azzurrini’s first-leg European Championship qualifier against Sweden in Pescara.
