Trezeguet is the more natural finisher than Vieri and can find his way around the net better. However, overall, Vieri is the better player and does not come far behind Trezeguet when it comes to finishing and being at the right spot at the right time.

Trez is definately one of the best finisher in a Juve shirt ...

Vieri ... he don't head in crosses from the flank but he ATTACKS them ... barging into the penalty area with aggression umpkin:

He may not be a better finisher but definately a better attacker than Trez ...
And i see him as a better partner for Alex .. IMO

for me i seem to mirror most peoples opinions here in that i think vieri was the better all round player, but i honestly think trezeguet was/is the better finisher. i hav erarely seen anyone with treze's ability to sniff out an opening, he is pure class and i struggle to remember a better finisher

Both are very similar actually, perhaps looking at stats and records one would go for van Nistelrooy but Trez has some things going for him; mainly ability to score with both feet and undoubtably better aerial ability. They have similar goals per game ratio but one always have to keep in mind the difference between the free scoring EPL and cattenacio Serie A. I dread to think what Trez would do in place of Ruud in that same Man U team with Giggs, Becks putting in the crosses.

Both are undoubtably one of the best finishers of their era, but I give the nudge to Trezeguet, perhaps because of sentimental reasons but also because of the vast difference in leauges they played in.

Fiorentina veteran Christian Vieri is eyeing a recall to the Italian national team after an excellent start to the season.

I dont know how there can be any argument, Trez by a long way of course. Vieri is a better player and has far more attributes and does not need as much help to score goals but Trez is the full stop to every sentence.

Ruud is the only 1 that I would put with him in terms of finishing.

Vieri at his best was better than Trez at his best, and probably the best goal scorer of the last decade too. If Vieri had stuck with one club and I don't mean a useless club like Inter, maybe somewhere like Juve or Milan, his career would have never dropped.
Trez is lucky to be playing in a team that will keep on playing him even when he is playing like sh*t. So thats why he remained on op. Had he been sold to another team after playing one bad season, he would be bouncing around just like Vieri was.
So Trez is the more fortunate player who always had great supply from the likes of Zidane, Del Piero and Nedved, while Vieri was a one man force.

Gotta agree when you put it like that, but maybe the lack of loyalty puts Trez ahead. Remember Vieri really wanted to leave. If he'd stayed in bianconeri he could have benefitted from the supply that Trez has thrived upon?
