Best Vocalist: Freddie Mercury, hands down. One of the greatest frontmen as well as vocalists of all time. Fantastic songrwriter as well.

Vit, I absolutely adore Queen.

You don't find that many of us here in the States that are really big Queen fans. They dropped off the map here around '82, right after Hot Space was released.

I've been a fan for years. I have quite a few videos and DVD's, as well as all the albums, but I'm always looking for more. The problem is though, is that all the really good stuff is on PAL format, and that doesn't do me any good here.

And yes, I was FURIOUS when Brian and Roger decided to re-do We are the Champions with that flake Robbie Williams. George Michael would be the only one who could even come close to replacing Freddie, and that's a stretch.

Greatest band of all time, though, is The Beatles.

We had kinda Queenomania long time ago, in early 90's, just after Freddie's death, and when thye gave that huge concert on Wembley: Tribute to Freddie.
And I dont know much such addicted fans ever here as I am.

I have almost all their records as CDs - I have few of them as vinyl records too, but they are so old and overused, that that's impossible to listen to them often.
My fav CD is Live at Wembley'86, and I've got it on video, plus two other concerts (Hungary and Rio de Janeiro) and some interviews.

Yeah I remember that shocking news.
I've heard that song and my first impression was: this guy has no balls, to sing that song :(
I've heard such gossips, that it was kinda a try: they really wanted to reactivate Queen, and they were looking for new vocalist: so that song was also a test: how fans take new vocalist. Fans said NO to him, and I would say NO to every other vocalist.
Speaking about George Michael: I said earlier about his incredible voice possibilities, and he would be the only one who could replace Freddie (have you seen The tribute to Freddie? He was THE ONLY ONE guy, who has no problems with singing songs, he and maybe David Bowie, but the rest was more or less hopeless) but I still say no, cause I like him as George Michael, not as part of Queen :)

I'm not fan of Beatles, maybe few of their songs.

I have the Freddie tribute on DVD.

I also have the MTV Broadcast on tape. That one shows Metallica, G'N'R, Def Leppard, Extreme performing the Queen songs before John, Brian and Roger take the stage. It's still in good shape, too, considering it's 11 years old.

I'm trying to find Queen: The Magic Years, on NTSC DVD, but it will be a while before that comes out.

Serge, don't think I'm a fool. have you ever heard George play bass?

I'll answer this in two parts.

#1- Yes, I think you're a fool.:D

and

#2- Now that I remember it, I think he played bass on "All things must pass", which is, by the way,the best Solo album of any of the Beatles.

I realized that after I posted it, but I was lazy and didn't feel like editing the post.

I figured you'd respond, anyway.

Now that I think about it, he might've played bass for the Traveling Willburys

Damn straight he did, But, it was easy for me to put him in because I just picked four of the best musicians I know.
