There is no "best". But the ones above the rest are: progressive trance, vocal trance, chill-out, house and euro-dance.

The worst by far- HIP-HOP in the past 5 years.

Agree. I think a "C" should be added before the word "rap"

It is a close call between Reggae and Rock (either the classical or the harder ones).

Definitely the worst are Pop and Hibb Hobb<-intentional.

Hip Hop and Rap are taking over the mainstream, incase anyone has noticed pop is slowly dying out. As soon as they have done a full takeover, they will become crappy because their lyrics will have to reach the lowest common people.

Its a mixture between Rock and well.. Rock.

You're exactly right Dan. Music is doomed if we're stuck with hip-hop for the next ten years.

Music comes in cycles. They will always be the odd good band. Shame we couldnt of grown up in the 60s eh? :D

00' will be remembered as the hip hop year, just as the 90s will be remebered as the pop year. Whats really interesting though is that for hip hop to take over the mainstream, it first had to callobarate with pop, just as pop had to collarorate to some extent with rock to take over.

I love how music revolutionizes, like, for example, the White Stripes. They're not my favourite band, but I do like their 60s-esque sound.

If you really want to see an original band with amazing lyrics, check out this English group called the streets. Yes, they are a ' hip-hop' variety, but they are alot different from Ja rule saying: YEAH YEAH YEAH!

Just trust me. I thought they sucked at first, but their lyrics overcome it all.

Download a song called ' Lets push things forward ' - it talks about revolutionizing music. Dont be put off by the electronic music, espacially when you consider this is one man doing it all alone with no help.

Trance, prog, house, breaks, downtempo, lounge, ambient and moderate acoustic pieces with optional vocals. All relative on what mood I'm in.

    I'm with Elnur here.

Melancholy classical pieces are good to chill to too, but I hate it when they get ****ing all british-1800s-military-happy.
