That Valencia defense consisting of Angloma - Ayala - Pellegrino - Carboni in 2001 was absolute class, and I believe Roberto could have been considered perhaps the best defender during the turn of the century. I don't recall seeing him make many mistakes during his career.

Honestly i didn't watch all liverpool games this season. But i never disappointed with his performance. And often maybe little bit unfair. Sometime maybe.

How is Cannavaro the best defender in the world right now? He is having a nightmare season, not totally his fault but its laughable that he is actually in the race at all, likewise Puyol who has been poor as well. Terry has been injured most of the time , so i do not know why he is there and less said about Barzagli the better, he is plying his trade in serieB for chrissakes. Cordoba has been in and out of Inter's team. On that list Vidic has had a very good season as have Carragher and Toure. Not seen much of van buyten, alex
