Juventus have signed goalkeeper Emanuele Belardi on a one-year loan deal from Reggina, the club have confirmed.

The 29-year-old put pen to paper on a contract this morning which gives the Turin giants the opportunity to buy him outright next summer.

The custodian made his debut in 1995 with the Amaranto outfit and has spent the last three seasons on loan at Napoli, Modena and most recently Catanzaro in Serie B.

Belardi’s move is yet another reinforcement for the demoted Bianconeri after the arrival of midfielders Marco Marchionni and Cristiano Zanetti, plus forward Valeri Bojinov.

Belardi will join Gianluigi Buffon and Antonio Mirante to complete the Juventino goalkeeping line-up, although speculation is still linking the world champion with a move to Milan.

Buffon could be replaced by Livorno’s Marco Amelia, who is said to be part of the proposed deal between Milan and Juve.

The Rossoneri intend to buy Amelia and then transfer him to the Turin club, along with cash, in exchange for Buffon.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria are understood to be on the verge of signing Juventus midfielder Ruben Olivera.

The 23-year-old Uruguayan could land in Genoa on a loan spell, which may turn into a co-ownership agreement in 2007.

Olivera has also been eyed by Empoli who are looking for alternatives to Francesco Tavano given that the latter is set for a summer move.

Belardi joins the bianconeri

Juventus have signed goalkeeper Emanuele Belardi on a season-long loan from Reggina (with the option of an eventual purchase). Born in 1977, Belardi began his career with Reggina, making his debut in Serie B in the 1995-96 season. He has spent the last three seasons on loan, with Napoli, Modena and most recently, with Catanzaro in Serie B.
After the arrivals of Bojinov, Marchionni and Zanetti, Belardi is the latest Juventus reinforcement, completing a goalkeeping line up which already includes Gigi Buffon and Antonio Mirante. Meanwhile, the bianconeri continue with their search for a central defender.

i dont know how to view this. 3rd string goalie, or maybe Mirante will be loaned to serie a to get some valuable experience, and this guy is our 2nd goalie.

He looks like the lead singer of Keane. (1st guy on the left)

"Everybody's changing, and I don't feel the same."

Honestly, we could've got Cudicini, Guardalben, or Flavio Roma as 2nd 'keepers.

I'm not too convinced about Belardi.

:wth: Keeping bonefoi would have been a better option. I guess no matter what we seem to like having old goalkeepers as backups.. (Rampulla, Chimenti, Abbiatti). Although the latter wasnt bad whatsoever.

Yes, this transfer makes no sense as Bonnefoi would have been a better option. Also, Rampulla was awesome.
