i think it was time for a change.but who will replace him as captain?

gary neville might be the natural choice, but he's on the wrong side of his 30's.i would have liked steven gerrard to be the next english captain had i been a fan.he is probably the most influential player in the english squad,at club level atleast.plus he's young too.he would be a good choice imo.

Stevie G gets my vote,he would be fantastic & would lift the team with his confidence as well as great displays.

Beckham was never a suitable captain. Anybody who cries twice during the World Cup without lifting the actual trophy is not a suitable captain.

I agree that he wasn't a good captain but showing emotion has nothing to do with it.
