Fiore isn't a natural winger but he has spent pretty much the entire season on the right side of Lazio's midfield, and like Arsenal, we could play a 4-4-2 with free role wingers rather than free role centre mids. Fiore and Nedved are perfect for that job if you ask me.

Why does no one have Mexes in their formation..
He is likely to arrive in Turin too isn't he?

when lippi joined us again 3 seasons ago, we tried that with zambrotta and nedved on the wings. the problem is that we need the right players for the middle. Maresca is definately a great player to have in the middle as he is a good two way player. but tacchinardi is useless and offers nothing offensively and this is why when we had davids-tacchinardi combo, it wasnt working.

Ideally, you want to be able to attack on your wings and in the middle.

Fiore emerson maresca nedved

that would be okay, but when you have tacchinardi there, it rally doesnt seem like its going to be good.

my realistic best 11 would be:

Goalie: Buffon- simply the best

Centre Back: Thuram and Ferrari - experience and youth

Fullbacks: Zambro and Birindelli- both like to press forward and are capable defenders

Supporting Mid Role: Davids was best

Wide Mid: Nedved and Miccoli- mixture of speed, skill and power (who could contain both)

Creative/ Attacking Mid: Del Piero and Maresca- they will create many and have oportuntiy to score themselves

Forwards:Morientes or Gilardinho

Subs: tachinardi- still valuable def. midfielder
kapo- should be slowly introduced
appiah- impressive before juve days, needs more confidence, new coach will change this
camoranesi- same with appiah

sell: legro- no skill just lanky
montero- glory days well and truely over
iuliano- hand balls it so much should try as goalie, but for a far away club
Trez- static, selfish, doesn't every dribble past a defender, requires perfect assist
pessoto- better at grating cheese than chasing a ball
Di Viao- great poucher, shit footballer although i appreciate his wonder goals every 6 months

There's no real reason to sell Birindelli. He's an ideal sub player who can play well, doesn't complain and doesn't make howlers that cost us important matches AFAIK.

We can very well get Mexes, Ferrari, Trabelsi, Lucio, Oddo, Evra and Squillaci, but they'd start whining and complaining before you can say "starting eleven"

Buffon
Bonera - Mexes - Ferrari - Zambrotta
Camoranesi - Tacchinardi - Maresca - Nedved
Gilardino - Del Piero

Keep in mind that Prandelli, who is Lippi's probable replacement, is likely to play 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1. It doesn't really matter which one to me, just as long as Maresca gets a chance.

I like the formation and the players. AND.......with Kapo and Jankulovski, we would have very good back-ups for the wings! Just in case we sign Jank!
