For Andrea Barzagli and the rest of Juve's Italian contingent, it came as something of a relief. Having lost two finals in recent months – the Coppa Italia with the Bianconeri and Euro 2012 with Italy – it was third time lucky for them in this evening's Super Cup against Napoli.
It was also the perfect start to the season for Andrea, who missed the side's first summer friendlies. The defender put in a strong performance, despite making a rare appearance on the left of the three-man back line. Afterwards he observed: “I think both teams played well but we deserved to win it. Dedicated to Conte? Yes, it's definitely for Conte, but it's also for Leo and Simone.”
