The Primavera again started strongly in Viareggio by registering a 4-2 victory against Maribor. The win was well deserved after a top class first-half performance saw Lanini find the back of the net three times after coming off the bench. The result also extended the Bianconeri’s impressive goalscoring streak to make it 27 matches in a row in the Viareggio Cup.
The Primavera coach was satisfied with the final scoreline and with his team's energy on the pitch. He also gave special mention to a man-of-the-match performance from Eric Lanini:
“It was important to win, and we did that, especially when you consider that just three days ago we played a crucial match against Fiorentina in the championship.
“Lanini? He’s a guy with great quality. And like many others, I consider him a starter. He’s doing really well and I’m happy for his goals.”
