Favoring a team in the final qualification match by giving it home advantage was a weird decision indeed. I understand the logic behind favoring teams in the semifinals based on their results in the qualifying groups, but there is no logic at all in favoring someone in the finals by giving them the home advantage solely due to a draw.

It would have been just as unfair if Italy were drawn to be the hosts in the final. Neutral venue for the final was indeed the only right decision.
