Buffon
Barzagli Bonucci Chiellini
Candreva Parolo De Rossi Verratti Darmian
Immobile, Belotti

it's the predicted line-up from FI, GDS, CDS and Tuttosport, it's what everyone expects from Ventura. probably it all depends on whether Belotti says he's ready or not today though. I don't think 352 is a bad choice as Italy lacks reliable fullbacks and defensively 352 is a solid choice, I just think that Italy shouldn't play 2 CFs upfront, especially not with that middle 3, I expect them to struggle offensively unless Sweden fucks up and let those 2 predators smell blood

I really don't like those two up front. But overall that's still a pretty solid looking team.

Any lineup that benches Insigne is fucking idiotic.

And apparently el sharaawy wont even be on the bench when he has been red hot.
Yea Belotti and Immbile don't really work as a duo. One should be benched for Insigne. Not his ideal role, but he's probably Italy's best attacking talent and Ventura sure as fuck shouldn't be playing him as a a wide midfielder again lol. I don't see what else Insigne could play in a 3-5-2 besides SS

And where is Jorginho? Has he still not been called up yet? It should be him instead of De Rossi

Seriously, you want his debut on the nt, where there're hardly any Napoli players, to be a start in a supernervous away game? Of course Ventura will use established, reliable players, he knows he'll get crucified if shit goes wrong

Jorginho is indeed called up but not starting. I agree with @pitbull. His start shouldn't be in a tough away game in a crucial game. I figure he'll come on depending on how the game goes and hopefully start on Monday.

El Shaarawy in the stand is just retarded when Gabbiadini is in the team. El Sha's more in form than Berna, Eder, Gabbiadini or Belotti. Only Immobile and Insigne should be ahead of him.

El Sharaawy out because injured..
All of the experts calling 433 or 442, either Ventura want to hold to his self esteem, or deliberately make italy out.

Simone Zaza, Stephan El Shaarawy, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Leonardo Spinazzola are officially out of Italy’s World Cup play-off in Sweden.

Sweden are way too agressive. If they keep playing like this, they’ll run out of steam early and probably get a red card.
:agree: I don't really understand this approach. I mean I guess you could hope that you catch a slow, low on confidence, team like Italy out get a goal early but there's going to be a lot of game left to make after that
