he's the best holding mid we have besides De Rossi. he actually can hold on to the ball and has a decent build up play.

You can support other countries, I have no real issue with that. I like Italian football, so I like the Italian NT too.

But it's just too weird to say 'we' in this context imo. You can say it when referring to juventini, as you actually are one of them. But you're not Italian, right?

I feel very connected to the Azzurri even though I'm not Italian. I've supported them as long as I've followed football perhaps it's the Juve connection that makes it feel like the natural NT to cheer for.

Yes I understand that. I have no problem with it either. But I couldn't say 'we' tbh. I am not an Italian, so why would I refer to myself as one?

I don't see it as referring himself as an Italian, I see it as belonging to a group that supports the Azzurri and that's what the word "we" is referring to.

I used to do this when i was very young as i grew up supporting the Italian NT but as i grew older i felt totally awkward to refer to Italy as 'we'. Its pretty insulting to the Italians imo. You're just treating the NT as some club side while Italians see it as a source of pride to support their country. I will support Italy and want them to win but i won't refer to them as 'we' when i have no background or connection to their country.

but i am 100% football-italian and i'll keep saying "we". nationalists can put me on their ignore list if they can't take it.
