If u come down to India,u'll notice just how popular National teams are especially Brazil and its like a crazy party atmosphere at the time of the world cup.And in the process,u might also understand to an extent about ppl cheering Nt's perhaps.Club culture was literally non- existent until a few yrs.So u can see why a lot of fans were into NT football and with that comes supporting your favorite NT's.
You might feel this is all plastic from the outside but this is just the truth of the matter especially in Asian countries who'll never be relevant footballing nations.

Verratti in front of Pirlo :tuttosport:

Buffon
Darmian-Barzagli-Chiellini-De Sciglio
De Rossi-Pirlo-Marchisio
Verratti
Cassano-Balotelli

Not bad. I hope Verratti starts, he's gonna shut the haters @Bianconero81
I don't hate the Koala Vulture hybrid; I simply don't want him @ Juve :D

Aquilani :howler: :sergio: That fucker must be paying top dollar to Prandelli and the FIGC.

I agree with Prandelli not calling up Rossi to a certain extent, Rossi has suspect knees to say the very least, and considering games take place every 4 days or so, I highly doubt he would be able to cope.

Jose Mourinho has tipped Italy to win this summer's World Cup, saying the 2006 victors should at least make the final in Rio de Janeiro.

The former Inter Milan coach will be commenting on this summer's big event for Yahoo, and with just under a fortnight before Italy's opening fixture against England in Manaus, the Chelsea manager made his predictions in favour of the Squadra Azzurra.

"They will either win it or reach the final," he said. "Italy can go all the way. They have a very, very difficult group, but Italy are Italy."

Cesare Prandelli's men also face Uruguay and Costa Rica in the group stage, but if they successfully navigate their way through to the last 16, either Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast or Japan lie in wait.

Only subsequently, in the quarterfinals, could hosts Brazil or holders Spain potentially be blocking Italy's path to a fifth World Cup triumph.

"Prandelli's got some talented players and they have the experience and the savoir faire to deal with such important moments," Mourinho said.

"If they get through the group, from the last-16 on, their preparation can make the difference. They've got tradition, faith and a good squad. Yes, I think Italy can do really well."

Balotelli appears to be improving from his injury and could play tomorrow should Prandelli choose to use him. (Via GdS)

Barzagli has a fever and is taking antibiotics. He likely won't play in tomorrow's friendly vs. Luxembourg. (Via GdS)

Italy's team doctor said medically Rossi was fine and he was recovering physically, but it was clear he wasn't in top shape. (Via GdS)

Rossi on twitter today:

"Everyone says I'm not in shape: I dare them to ask anyone for the test results and those of the match. You'll be surprised."

"Getting tackle on? Scared? Makes me laugh. My decision making is faster than the defenders..."

"...next time, like an amateur, I'll wait for my opponents to get tackled on. Just some things I wanted to clear up."

"Now the most important thing to do is root for Italy. Forza Azzurri!! #fifthstar"
In that case, I guess you just weren't good enough.

Even Cassano made it.

Prandelli hits back at Rossi :"I'm compelled to explain about G.Rossi. I always told him he was not in the 23squad,one month ago he asked me for a chance. I met G.Rossi on May 7 to tell him he wasn't in 30-men list.He asked me a chance so I thought could be a good story. But he knew.I didn't expect what Giuseppe Rossi said in his tweets. He knew. Not hearing the truth it has been a form of violence"

Rossi is not right to react how he did. I'm with Prandelli on this.
