Our defense has been in shambles in this Confed Cup. I hope Prandelli has a fix formation and improve the defense. All this changing doesn't help the NT due to lack of game time together unlike club football. Buffon been showing some signs that age is slowly catching him up, and Barzagli imo had a terrible tournament and the injuries didn't help him either. No one in the defense looked convincing in the Confed Cup.

Barzagli wasn't really fit, so can't really judge him on this tournament.

Prandelli plays an open style, so Italy will concede more chances than they used to. But individually the Confederations Cup isn't a great tournament to judge by. It comes at the end of a long season and doesn't have the preparation or prestige of a World Cup or Euros.

They are conceding too many goals due to silly mistakes. Too much errors done at the back, not really due to the opposition counter attack.
I believe the defense need to buck up, but under Prandelli the midfield doesn't protect the defense as much as it used too.

Prandelli really needs to reconsider calling up all of Diamanti, Aquilani, Cerci and Candreva in a tournament again. Too many of these lightweight attacking midfielders, and De Rossi doesn't have a substitute.

I'm pretty sure you won't see such lax play at a World Cup.
The Europa League of international tournaments.

I think Diamanti and Candreva are in a strong position for next year, barring poor seasons or injury. The other two ideally would be replaced by young players with promise.

Martinez will not dislodge Busquets.
Either/or, they should go back to two.

I thought similar, the latter looked better than what I expected.

Verratti is going to have a spot anyway. Would be useful if Poli had a strong season, he's got a bite.

Depending on where Poli ends up, if he moves to one of the big guns he going to end up on the bench more. I think Diamanti and Candreva warrants their place in the NT.
I hope if we playing a tridente up front, and Insigne have a good season we might see him playing as the support to Balo. Not sure why El Sha wasn't given enough chance this time.

Florenzi is a good option from the U21 as well. He is abit like Marchisio, has good technique but goes missing sometime.

He has to bring in more strikers for the WC, if its just Balotelli and Gilardino then ill cry, Di Natale deserves a spot regardless of his age
Balotelli, CF (Pazzini, Matri or Osvaldo - depending on their upcoming season), Giovinco, Rossi and Cassano.

Bank on it. :)

It's the midfield that needs work, the likes of Aquilani and Montolivo are absolute shit they hinder the team more than they help. Montolivo less, he sometimes has great games but after 80 shit games. Include Maronne, Verrati asap and drop those two fools.
