You know the thing that concerns me most is France's defense, they probably would get exposed. I don't rate them very highly to be honest, neither as individuals and especially not as a unit. France almost always has to concede against decent opposition. If Blanc can manage to keep the ball and not allow Italians possession(which might prove too difficult) then thats one way to solve the problem.

Don't worry mate, them pasta boys are going down

There is a big chance that Italy plays France in the quarters.

Azzurri fans, anyone up for a truce? :D
Unlike most Italy-France encounters this could be an entertaining game. They're usually boring draws (even the Euro 2000 final wasn't really a good game), but this time it looks like they're made for each other.

Funnily enough, i think Prandelli will be more willing to attack than Blanc, the latter played with 3 central mids against an injury riddled English side, and did not attack them enough, makes me think he might do the same against Italy in the quarters.

Still, i think it will be a very close game, both teams are on a similar level imo.

Italy vs France would be crazy!!! I think we could beat them if we play our game and not just sit back and absorbe Nasi,Ribery and Benzema waves. We need to keep the ball, go forward smartly and be confident. The thing that worries me is the 2nd half, we keep running out of gas at about the 60min marks.

Lineup if I were prandelli

Abate.Barzagli.Bonucci.Balzaretti
.Marchisio..Pirlo..DeRossi
........Balotelli.Cassano
.............DiNatale

Sub Bonucci for Chellini if he could play.
I put Abate instead of Maggie because he's more familiar with a 4 back line rather than 3
Balo and Cassani could give us more creativity in the mid and DiNatale is already used to playing up top alone.

don't know what to expect, we haven't played these fools since what 1997? Zola scored to give us a 1-0 win I believe in a WC qualifier at Wembley. I just hope we play our game, dont start this defensive wall bs again.

I see lots of people were jumping the gun with all that France vs Italy talk here :D

I think England will take this one in a close game - 1-0, 2-1 - with an Italianesque type of performance, they have been employing under Hodgson
