Serbia should have to play the rest of their home games at a neutral location IMO. Its not fair to the opposition and even their own players to put them at risk.

Looking at things objectively, that should probably have happened for the game against Italy.

Looking at it subjectively, I would be amused if the Italy fans got chased all over Belgrade.

It will be interesting to see what happens next time crowd trouble pops off in Italy. If it doesn't, then perhaps they've finally taken some responsibility. But I doubt that.

So if, lets say, some English fans cause trouble in an away game and force the authorities to postpone the game, the other team's stadium must be banned from next games? Ridiculous.
Well first of all the well known english hooligans wouldn't get past with their passports & if they did then the host should be held liable as well.Stadium banning isn't the only punishment that could be given but hey, since they were former WC champs it's perfectly fine.

Every sporting event should have visible policing & private security to contain possible violence & disruption. This won't be the last time it happens in Italy & i'll be around to say i told you so.

Depends what the trouble is, who caused it, how it was dealt with, same as here....

A group of people can go to Italy or any country and cause an awful lot of trouble and it will still be trouble however you dress it up. I suppose away fans now will all be frisked full body, everyone will need ID or some kind of pass (like home fans), nothing will be allowed in the ground. But still, if a group have something premeditated it's a problem.

Away fans are normally searched. It was the trouble outside the ground that meant normal procedures were skipped in order to contain the Serbs.

And I wouldn't count on Italy making any changes. They'll probably just dismiss it as being someone else's fault.

I think you underestimate them, they are lazy but put under pressure they make changes, a lot has changed with security since the spate of ultra trouble 3 or so years ago. Dealing with away fans is a contentious point for many countries, I can think of incidents in Italy, France, Spain and Turkey involving English fans where they blame the policing. These are fans who are allegedly just going to have a drink and watch the game too. I was speaking to a couple of Spurs fans who went to Milan for the Inter game and there were a lot of old boys there from the firms but they were treated really well by locals and security even when they actually started fighting each other :)rolleyes:), the police dealt with little issues before they escalated, so it's not even a nationwide issue.
