When was the last time Italy qualified from the group stage of a major tournament after only two rounds? Euro 2000?

2006 actually
not true, they got 4 points from first two games and, going into the final game, every team in the group still had a chance of going through.

I remember cause US was bottom of group on 1 point and still had chance of going through with a win

Germany might be best team , but i still think Croatia is kind of team Italy would hate to play against.
I seen them play against Croatia twice, and even if the Croats have more quality in midfield, Italy could still stand up to them fairly well and were more experienced. While the Germans who Italy played recently, even if it was just a friendly, was flat out just superior to Italy in every way, would be tougher task IMO.

I agree... I think the Croatia game will be hard but I see us squeezing by... Germany on the other hand have a chip on their shoulder vs Italy, so much has been made in recent years about them never beating us in a major tournament that I think they will play the game of their lives in the quarters if we meet to prove a point and take us out.

don't overrate the friendly against Germany. a result like this won't ever happen again.

i'd rather play toothless Germany than Croatia.

anyways, Immobile-Zaza, what a partnership...if you want to play counter attacking football...against Ireland :touched:

inb4 Hist comes in to lol at me because one of them scores a lucky goal in the stoppages, instantly turning bad tactics into great tactics.
