why is it nonsense? of all the groups its the toughest IMO. If you go with the FIFA ranking you have #7 Uruguay, #9 Italy and #10 Uruguay. Uruguay won the last Copa America, finished 3rd in WC 2010. Italy reached the Final of the Euro in 2012 and battled both Uruguay and England to PK wins recently in the Euro and Conf. cup. You throw in Costa Rica who on paper should be easy but playing in the climate they are going to play in favors them and you have what you call the group of death. I think any of the 4 could go through, even Costa Rica.

I think the Germany Portugal USA Ghana group you have 2 clearly better teams in Germany and Portugal and a drop off with the USA and Ghana. In the Italy group you have 3 possible teams that could realistically advance. That's why I said it was the group of death. In any case, will be fun to see how it all unfolds.
