He has a knee sprain and second degree damage to the medial collateral ligament.
So, he did not injure the ACL for the third time, it's a different ligament. He should be out for a while but it's not as bad as people feared. Hopefully he will be able to make it to the world cup.

I expect Argentina and Brazil to make the Semis. I'd like to add Italy to that group as well. I want Spain to fail miserably (crashing out in the group stages or 2nd round), but I don't see it happening. Germany will go far, but they won't win.
Colombia (depending on how fit Falcao is), Chile, and France could spring a surprise, and Holland will flatter to deceive yet again. Portugal look interesting, but it all depends on how hungry and fit Ronaldo is. England will fail, and Uruguay won't do as well as people expect them to.
African and Asian teams will suck hard, as will The US and Mexico.
