Prandelli always says that he'll play a 4-3-1-2, maybe he'll switch it up during the game but that will always be his primary formation in which the system revolves around.

Out of the attackers, I don't know who should really start...

Montolivo
(Giovinco)
Balotelli - Cassano
(Destro/Borini) - (Di Natale)

Out of the 32-man provisional squad sent out, I think it'll be trimmed down to this: (I think the attackers will stay the same, except one of Destro or Borini goes home.)

GKs: Buffon De Sanctis Sirigu
Defenders: Maggio, Abate, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Ogbonna, Crisicto, Balzaretti
Midfielders: De Rossi, Motta, Pirlo, Verratti, Marchisio, Nocerino, Montolivo
Attackers: Cassano, Di Natale, Giovinco, Balotelli, Destro or Borini

It'll end up looking like this:

Buffon
(De Sanctis)
Maggio - Barzagli - Chiellini - Criscito
(Abate) - (Bonucci) - (Ogbonna) - (Balzaretti)
De Rossi - Pirlo - Marchisio
(Motta) - (Verratti) - (Giaccherini)
Montolivo
(Giovinco)
Balotelli - Cassano
(Destro/Borini) - (Di Natale)

EDIT: That's 9 Juventus players if we recall Giovinco and sign Verratti. 10 if we sign Destro. :D
EDIT (2): The more I look at it. I think Giaccherini deserves a call-up more than Nocerino, because of his versatility. Nocerino is a limited, weak player. He had a lucky season with Milan IMO and when he played for the Italy NT (against the USA I think it was) he played like total ass. So for that, I switch Giaccherini with Nocerino. :)

Monty at AM with Cassano and Balotelli as strikers will almost certainly be the starting strike force.

I have a feeling Destro will get the call up over Borini. It definitely won't be both IMO. Id prefer Destro anyway, still think you need to take a pure goal scorer.

We should sign Destro now!!! The kid is gonna be huge. 8 Million Euros + a player or two, and I'm sure he is ours :D

Di Natale doesn't deserve to start. He's always been shit for the Azzurri when given the chance; a solid bench option, but nothing more.

He's still a $#@! player though. I'd like to see Italy play 4-3-3 with Gio and Cassano either side of Balo. It could be interesting :klin:
Do you really think Cassano would be effective in a 4-3-3?

I for one, believe he is most effective in a 2 man attack, where he has the freedom to roam, come deep to receive the ball, create and generally not be pinned down to one side of the field.

Italy will probably go for a 4-3-1-2 which imo is the most suitable tactical setup for the sort of players Italy have. The fullbacks should provide enough width.

Who will Italy's fullbacks be btw? Maggio/Cassani on the right? Will they be playing Chiellini on the left? I personally don't think that would be a good idea if Prandelli is planning on playing the aforementioned setup.

Yeah, Criscito and Maggio are the logical choices, as they are capable of providing the width needed from fullbacks in 4312, but I could see Prandelli going with the more careful Chiellini on the left approach against Spain, since having all three of our CB's out there provides pretty much unbreakable stability.

Chuudete le valigie amici, andiamo a Berlino! :touched:

Pirlo's Vision and poise to wait for perfect time to pass, Grosso's finish

Cannavaro's Anticipation and determination, Alex's impeccable finish

Best Azzuri game I've ever seen...
