Just pay 15M and get Biglia for the DM position.

And yes, I've come to terms with myself with the signing of Witsel. I'm disappointed, but what u gonna do?

This reminds me of Hernanes, the other signing we all knew was horrible at the moment it happened and it was confirmed.

Other signings that surprised us being good weren't touted as horrible from the first moment, like Pereya and Morata. Price was too high, but players themselves were almost unknown. Witsel we just know is pure shite.

I honestly prefer to have Witsel instead of Hernanes, even maybe Sturaro. Our midfield bench is underwhelming tbh, Hernanes can't really be trusted, Pereyra has been a major let down after a decent first year, we can't ever count on Asamoah, the only half decent options we have are Sturaro and Lemina, and both are unproven young boys that hasn't been outstanding talents so far really.

Having Pjanic-Marchisio-Khedira isn't half bad, aside from injuries, and if Marchisio can come back as good as he was before getting that fucking injury :sergio:

We sell pogba and then for our next signing we settle for anything.... sure.

Witsel is shit. Es haych eye tea. This is a bad move if true. We need a quality player especially if pogba goes. With sami and marchisio out we cannot settle for anything. Quick solution would be to someone who will settle quickly ( biglia).

Just logged in to say that having watched him the whole year he spent at Benfica makes me laugh quite a bit at the whole misconception of Witsel's value around here. He's no Pogba (duh), but he's far from the reputation he gets from Juve fans.

I see him similar to Khedira and Marchisio in the sense that he is great tactically (at reading the flow of the game and understanding where he needs to be on the pitch) and he keeps the ball rolling rarely giving it away. Has some moments of magic in him, but, like Marchisio, usually doesn't show that part of his game too much.

His competitive attitude has to be questioned (I still don't understand his move to Russia), but technically he's good. People probably judge him based on common misbelief or international football (even though I actually think he did good both in 2014 and 2016), but, I mean, if Juve is linked to him and were to get him, I think Paratici's opinion deserves some credit here?

He wouldn't be replacing Pogba anyway, he'd just be that extra midfielder needed because of Khedira (and now Marchisio)'s injuries. Pogba's replacement is already with the team.

By the way, I live in Portugal and the seemingly flavour of the week Herrera (who is great at international footie) can actually be such a big let down for Porto that their fans would gladly sell him off. Really inconsistent and really not a good passer or good user of the ball in general. I like him, kind of, I like his spacial awareness without the ball and I guess he could even be useful at Juve in the right context, but just thought it's kinda funny seeing the disparity of opinions between Witsel and Herrera since the first was much more of an 'hit' in Portugal rather than the second. Matic was a bench player when Witsel was at Benfica, too, although I have to admit he grew a lot since these years. Even if I never liked his (kinda careless) style.

If I could choose though, I'd say scrap them all and go for João Mário. He didn't have a great EURO, but he really is total class. He's not a winger, as the italian media would make you believe.

Bottom line, there are a few better targets than Witsel on the market, but Juve can also easily do much worse. Like Sissoko or Matuidi, for starters. Or by simply sticking with the current midfield backups, since numerically that area is set until at least 2 of Pereyra, Hernanes, Lemina and Sturaro get offloaded. And no, Lemina is not better than Witsel. Not by a country mile.

Now back to my ocasional lurker status! :D
We like you better than Zach. Please post more

Xoxo

Fucking underwhelming. This guy is going to cost us 20 million tops, so I can't really see him being a replacement for Pogba, unless our management are going super cheap, or have gone absolutely nuts. He is a spineless bitch, who even refused to play cuz he wants to leave. Yeah, that's the kind of attitude and winner mentality we want at Juve. He desperately wants Juve, because he knows no other big team is dumb enough to actually want him. However, if we are getting this shitcunt to replace Hernanes and/or Pererya, then it somewhat softens the blow, although I'd have preferred someone younger and with more potential.

Exactly. I think people are going to be disappinted because Juve have already got the replacement. Witsel is for depth and i think that will be it as far as big transfers.
The way I see it we've decided to add a huge name in attack, a great player in Pjanic and one or two solid midfield signings. It balances out, we lose Paul but we have Pjanic and Higuain, not to mention Pjaca.

It doesn't balance out at all. Our midfield is weakened and loses a lot of dynamism and physicality. Asshole Scniztel isn't exactly known for his tenacity and defensive prowess. From Vidal and Pogba, two guys who have a lot of strength, power, and dynamism, to almost 0 in that respect, unless somehow Lemina develops into a beast, and Asamoah regains his old form. Two gigantic IFs!

Don't worry the Black Marchisio will blow you away.

Honestly, I think Witsel will be great here.

He'll do just fine. As long as Khedira is healthy, and so is Kwadwo.

Bro but like... their ability in attack is like night and day. Pjanic goes missing in games more often than not.
So did Paul during the first half of the season. We won't get another Pogba so we have balanced it out with getting a beast like Gonzalo with a great player in Pjanic
