There is one thing that troubles me about this whole thing. Let's say that you actually see your body below you. Isn't it possible that you are just imagining it? That you didn't actually leave your body, but that the whole thing was a product of your own physical brain?
lol of course it is just a product of chemical reactions in your brain.

Yea and I don't believe in it. It's all chemical reactions like when people have a near death experience and have extreme hallucinations.

You can actually "travel" and "visit" other people if you wanted.

Eddy, I always thought it was in live time.

There have been various experiments with people projecting to see one another to see if this was the real deal. You'd be quite surprised, they both met and visited places with one another. Who's brain chemical are they following ?

This was done in the "Monroe Institute" who go around the world conducting workshops.

Where are you planning on going?
Good question, probably no where the first time. Just get used to moving around the house and maybe, spy on the girl living upstairs. :p

It is live time...in your physical, but your conscious does note evaluate time and space compared to the physical

Personally, I don't have an opinion on the subject. I mean, my first impression that it is, in fact, no more that some surreal hallucination that is by-product of firing neurons in the brain. However, I won't set my mind on the topic until I have actually experienced it.

Right, I've heard of many scientific experiments that have provided good evidence for this but I don't think it has been proved yet.

As for time, I think time is slower in this lucid state. Much slower. One minute can feel like an eternity.

Agreed. I've been told it feels much more realer than our physical world.

For sure. I find this stuff interesting and I'm not scared of trying it at all. I'm sure it is pretty crazy and I'm going to check those links he posted I just don't believe it's anything more than your brain tripping out.

True, though it would be pretty hard to prove it in such a manner since they are different dimensions.

Umm, as for time, if you are projecting, you can quickly come back to your body and record how long you felt it lasted. Time would also be a hard matter in this case.

Go for it, only you can be the judge of that. Though don't expect to do it on the first go, I'm currently going on a one month and a half dry spell but if you do it the first night, then that's great, tell us what goes. And it's melatonin that makes your project.

There are tons of forums dedicated to projecting. A poster (projecting) went to another poster's house (who was awake) in the astral plane, a series of events happened and the projector soon found himself in a situation which he couldn't control and took notes, he saw her but couldn't communicate with her (obviously) and hanged around for a while. He woke up, went back to the forum to post, interestingly enough, to find out that when he was visiting the other poster, he was in her subconscious, basically what she was thinking most of the time and she pretty much confirmed it. So extreme hallucinations might be a bit too far off.

Interesting read from the astral viewers forum by a poster named summerlander

    16/08/2010:

In this experience I decided to visit CaitHT as she is someone I don't know and have never met before (unlike stoneZoMbIe) and thus it creates a good opportunity to make observations for the sake of study. All I had to go by was her avatar picture, her full name and her posts which give me a rough idea of her personality. So it starts like this: I went to bed around 1.30am. Woke up at 5am, used the toilet and felt primed for the induction of an OOBE. Went down to bring about the experience, and, after progressively relaxing, I reached a mild form of SP and vibrations ensued.

They started out as a hiss in my head which gradually developed into a cacophony of rushing noises. I stuck out a limb and then another as I could still feel my arms resting on the mattress somehow. Suddenly I acquired a blurry vision of my room from where I was laying, and I could see phantom hands floating in front of me. I decided to turn to my left slowly, and then to my right as I attempted to break free from the body. I was about to return to my left when I realised that I had already rolled over and out completely and was now on top of mrs summerlander.

I was not weighing on her but I could feel her asleep beneath me. I willed myself to float up for a better view. Vision was smudged but I could make her out below me and on the bed. Where I was supposed to be, asleep and next to mrs summerlander, was a shadow. I floated down gently and landed my feet on solid floor. I could see that the light in the hallway was on as is the case in reality for we always leave it on during the night. I shook mrs summerlander and woke her up to tell her that I was out of body. Whether she was an unconscious version of mrs summerlander on a metaphysical level or merely a thought form stemming from my mind I don't know but she did look a bit like a smiling zombie as she got up and seemed happy for me.

I held her hand and asked her to come with me into the hallway. As I was partially blind, I asked her to rub my eyes until I could see properly. She did exactly that but perfect vision only came when she removed her fingers from my eyes. I was excited to finally see so clearly and thanked her. Then mrs summerlander pressed her body against mine and wanted to have sex. She displayed a naughty seductive smile too. I told her "not now honey as I've got a task to do". She urged me not to waste any time, and, as she pointed at the large mirror in the hallway, she said CaitHT's full name. I was ready to jump into the mirror when I saw my daughter come out of her room. Whether she was a thought form like her mother appeared to be or not, I don't know, but she looked at me and I felt that she wanted to go in the boys' room to sleep and be with her cousins who at present are staying with us during their holidays. She disappeared into the room that she wanted to be in. mrs summerlander was still there next to me and urged me to hurry one more time and I looked at the mirror again. I saw my reflection and hers. Mine looked normal and hers looked somewhat distorted.

I began to repeat CaitHT's full name as I ran towards it and plunged right in. I continued to repeat her name as I travelled at high speed through a black void. I also tried to conjure up a mental picture of her face but it was vague. I saw a faint light ahead and soon realised that I wasn't going there as I saw another one which seemed to be attracting me the most. I looked at my hands and I could see them but they didn't look like they were made of flesh and blood. They resembled something one would probably see in a virtual reality game. Focused on CaitHT again as I saw that the light grew.

I came out on the 'other side' and found myself in a place I'd never seen before. The ambient setup was what looked like the inside of a huge train station or airport and lots of people were walking out into the open where I could see daylight. In a street, my focus went to a group of three young women as if by instinct. One was blonde and shorter than the other two and did not look like CaitHT so I ruled her out. The other two were talking and both looked alike. One had dark brown hair and longer than CaitHT's hair in her avatar picture. The other one had longer hair which was reddish in colour. The red head and the blonde said their goodbyes to the other one and went their separate ways. I remember saying to myself "oh no! Which one is it? Which one do I follow?" before making a decision. I zoomed towards the red head and asked her if she was CaitHT while taking a good look at her face. She did not look like CaitHT and she told me she wasn't. "CaitHT's over there" she said as she pointed at the other woman who was now ahead and walking around a corner.

I glided towards her and saw that she was wearing something like a long grey coat which resembled a poncho. As I approached from behind I called out her name. She turned and seemed pleased to see me. She was taller than me but not much. Her face was the same, her hair was longer, and I particularly noticed her nose which was prominent and complimented her face really well. I told her who I was and that I was visiting her while out of body. She was glad I succeeded and told me something about shopping that I didn't understand. I questioned her about the "shopping" and asked her to communicate with me as clearly as possible due to the possibility that I could also perceive thought forms in my altered state of consciousness. She told me that what she said before didn't matter anyway.

I asked her how things were and that's when she told me that she wasn't happy about something. I asked her what it was and she said that I'd find out "when you go on Astral Viewers". I told her that whatever it is that she's going through, she can work it out and overcome it. She smiled. I walked with her to a close and up the stairs of a block of flats or should I use the American term "apartment building"? I told her that I'd stay with her for as long as possible as we went up the stairs and she said that was cool. As soon as she opened her front door, if indeed that was her house, she turned left. I tried to shut the door behind me but there was a problem with the latch and I couldn't do it. CaitHT tried too but it didn't work and she seemed frustrated. I worried about intruders and again told her that I'd stay for as long as possible. She told me not to worry. She then went to the same room to the left of the front door and I could see that she was doing something there but I was unable to see what it was as I also felt that I should keep my hands on the door to keep it shut. I know we talked some more but it became vague and I gradually phased back to my body. I woke up at 6.20am and told mrs summerlander, who had also awoken from her sleep, that I'd had an OOBE and that I possibly visited CaitHT if it wasn't all a personal projection from wishful thinking.

I turned the computer on and was ready to record my experience when I found out that the Astral viewers website was not working. I decided to write the experience in a jotter first.

This is a bit scary! i have just tried it, I am tired on my chair, decided to relax and closed my eyes, my heart rate increased, a strange feeling in my eyes, and felt something in my back, vibration like. I opened my eyes and got a bit scared. I am not sure if what happened to me is normal. Also, does AP have negative effects on person?

Nope, it's normal. Get the fear out of your head.
