Baggio must be in the 10-20 best greats, really. I can't think of that many greats who achieved as much as he did and almost single handily led his country to the wc final along with many other things.

You don't rate Rossi as one of the great qualities Italy produced?

I didn't name him in regards to the all time football greats but rather one hell of a goal scorer who was in fact great for Italy and is with a doubt the reason they conquered the likes of Brazil among other to their way to win the 82 wc.

Brazil's team was something at that wc, probably one of their best ever.

I'm pretty sure that even JBF isn't that daft.
Damn you :D

I don't see a guy, who basically is known for performing in three matches can be held in particularly high regard.

He may be a legend of Italian football, but I don't think he can even feature in a list of Italy's best ever players.

Brazil's team was something at that wc, probably one of their best ever.
True.

Many regard it as better than Brazil 1970, which is what quite a few folk consider the greatest ever team.

Still, Scotland might have beaten them had the coach chosen the correct 'keeper instead of that clown Alan Rough.

Just post that precious list of yours already :D

And it better have at least 8 players who has done more to their NT than this guy has

Why do you care? It's not like you support them :p

Just Italians or more generally?

Why do you care? It's not like you support them :p
And that was a prime example of why I have a problem with them.

Aberdeen had an extremely talented 'keeper who was already winning trophies and would go on to win heaps of caps, but Scotland stuck with a bozo who was a proven failure.

It's rather difficult on the basis that you have back-tracked from throwing his name into a discussion about great Italian players to changing the criteria to players who have done a lot for their national team.

I just don't see how can anyone ask for any country's greats while at the same time those who are considered great for their nation have in fact achieved nothing for the later. It just doesn't add up.

It's like considering De Stefano an Argentinian great while he hasn't played a single game for his country. He's a legend damn straight but not for Argentina that is.
