So everyone was agreeing that Caceres should be thrown out after his stupid actions.

How about Vidal?

I am now 90% sure that DUI was a major reason he was sold.

Wouldn't surprise me if the DUI played a significant part. I still think we should have held onto this guy, and, if necessary, sold him for 20-25M next summer (or whatever top price we could have gotten, depending largely on his season and potential buyers, ofc). The success of the club and his relationship with the fans means he probably wouldn't have tried to force his way out (imo). I think he would have gone about his business professionally.

So hard to recover from losing 3 top players in the same window, and Vidal helped define our style of play. The impact that he can have on a midfield, the energy and confidence that he brings with him, so huge. The collective braintrust should have understood the sporting implications, and put their foot down, understanding that losing Tevez and Pirlo was significant enough. But again, the combination of bad publicity and the player asking out, now here we are, 15th in the table. Arturo would have made a huge difference to this point.

Also, Caceres' contract is expiring in the summer (iirc), he's perpetually injured, and that position needs an upgrade. I love Martin, last year I would have thought he'd be the backup for the next few years (great versatility for a squad player), but I really can't see how he would still be at the club next year. Licht is still under contract too, so it seems like the natural time to upgrade and transition that RB position, anyway.

Bunch of fundamentalists. What's next? Players wives showing up in burqas and no sex on weekdays?

branchini, an agent told calciomercato that juve wanted vidal out, which met the players' desire to find a new challenge.

so everybody should be happy.
Little bit of both, as was alluded to at the time.
Except Juve made it seem like he forced his way out and got the fans to turn on him.
