Transfer windows are a disgusting farce now, people don't report actual news they just publish what they want to see happen and then tie up links ranging from loose to fantasy into a story. It's a constant oneupmanship orgy of toilet paper tabloids whose transfer rumour sections are fabricated by some spotty nerd, competing against some even spottier teenage nerd on his 'ITK' Twitter account to bring 'DA REALIST BREAKING NEWZ' to their mob of followers.

In the end it doesn't matter what is really happening, and most of the time it is absolutely nothing, they all have to make a living. It's just much worse now because people aren't sated by the general day to day movement of the window, they have to believe that their club is signing the next big player and have people tell them how attractive their club is and how players want to join them and their quest for global domination (in this case, the FA Cup).

It's always been like that. In the end I prefer to just wait on the official announcements. Everything else is speculation and can be fun, but I don't put much thought into it.

:agree: English/British EPL fans are especially pathetic about it. They have not much else in their useless little lives, so they live vicariously though their clubs. Its little wonder why they take so much stock into these stupid rumours.

Yea me too actually. I think given that we played Vidal AM towards the end of last season, and with Khedira's arrival and Sturaro's development the club maybe thinking about using this move to get the AM Allegri wants. I would disagree entirely with this decision though.

That's a good question. Anyone joining Arsenal would need a medical for sure.

I think Twitter has made it exponentially worse, because people are wanting and getting instant gratification through stories. Messageboards/forums have been around for a long time, but now you have so many people trying to get in on being some kind of expert. Even the actual 'experts' in the bigger or more respected newspapers aren't right the majority of the time.

On a serious note I am fed up with English media and even some of Italian media and newspaper claiming the deal is done and he has agreed to join Arsenal.

Just last night Vidal has liked a picture on instagram that has his picture on it with a quote saying I'm staying at Juve, and these rumors keep coming.
the spanish media have been the most annoying this summer, especially with their shit on Pogba

No point in getting caught up in the circus summer after summer. I don't pay any attention to any of this nonsense unless I see or hear direct quotes from the player himself or one of our club officials.

Easier said than done to be honest. And it genuinely doesn't help when club reps don't come out and flat or deny this shit. Also, to your point earlier, it's one thing to talk about links between player and club but it's completely different these days in the manner in which the news is reported. Let's take Pogba for example. It's common knowledge Barca is tapping him up in the press, and Laports saying all sorts of shit. But it doesn't help when you read a title that says Marrotta and Braida meet over dinner for Pogba. It's hard not believe stories that create subplots to sell them further. Honestly, just want closure on these topics for both players, with the the club taking a stand one way or another. It's potentially the Aguero saga all over again, this time with us being the selling club.

It's the same like last year but this time is annoying.
Las year it was fun, remember all troll-panicking posts from tuz members.
The Man United forum and their fans were heaps funnier as well, plenty of good banter and trolling between the two sets of fans.

Arsenal fans are fuckwits who take themselves extremely seriously. Most annoying out of all EPL fans IMO.

It's easy, stop getting so dramatic about it. People are away because it's the holiday period, and I wouldn't expect Marotta to continuously come out to respond to rumours. You'll get quick answers when the mics get a second with him, that's it.

Pogba's is a different situation to Vidal, but even then all I see is the usual presidential boasting. They'll have to sign someone, but it won't be Pogba until summer 2016 earliest.

The one that always brings a smile is the old "there's no smoke without fire" line. Um, yeah. Smoke is blown up the asses of the average football fan every summer.

 why should the club even acknowledge these stupid rumours. Absolutely no need.
I'll tell you what Marotta will say already. He'll say that we are not selling Vidal or Pogba. And that could be 100% the truth or not quite the truth but it's not going to make any difference to what is actually going on.
