Umm why would you understand if it was for Italy, but not Chile? A NT is a NT, not affliated to the club either way, but if they feel a players behaviour needs to be fined, then its equally valid for whatever the NT. Not thats the case in this regard, just the option was mentionned.

I said I would understand if Vidal was playing for Italy since Marotta is Italian, either way, it's just wrong to even think of fining him because he was 45 mins late to a NT training session when he is working his ass off all season in Juve training sessions.

Out of curiousity what're the rules with the clubs on these things? Technically what Vidal did is unrelated to Juve at all/jeopardized any of our games, unlike when Davids was fined for partying or something. But I suppose as long as the season is still ongoing Juve has the right to fine any of their players' misconduct

sorry mister I Know Everything, but can you show me a copy of rules whitin the club? How do you know what is matter between what? Marotta said he'll talk to Vidal, to Chilean coach, and will make a decision. If he was really late because he drank too much after the christening, then why can't juve punish him? He is under Juventus FC contract, so Juventus has all the rights to punish him financially.

If he acted inappropriately while on international duty, Juve has all right to fine him... its what the Juve of old would have done. When players had to actually be disciplined whether on NT duty or Club duty because on both occasions, they are representing the club directly or indirectly and are ambassadors and reflections of the club... I have no problem with a fine once the situation is duly investigated

Fining Vidal would be the stupidest possible thing. I mean christening a baby is something holy and 40 minutes more is nothing. He didn't miss any training and he wasn't drunk just drunk a beer or two.

I'm against the fine if it turns out that he was merely following a religious practice in a christening ceremony.

What could he possibly learn from such a fine? His actions were those of social, cultural and religious obligations.

Juve would only risk fucking up the relationship with the player.

He was out of line, though, but he was out of line with Chile. Juve should butt out of this one. If anything, he only deserves a warning.
