THANK YOU!
i'm a juve fan..not a marchisio fan nor a vidal fan.i may confess that i loved marchisio before and i believed that he would've been the next world cup player for italy and juve.now,i have some doubts...STILL. i believed marchisio and vidal had great games against milan.and if marchisio hadn't scored those 2 goals which proved to be 3 pointers i would've said vidal was the better one in that game since marchisio was MIA the second half.anyway.i'm really happy we have such a strong midfield in: marchisio vidal pirlo. and i honestly hope you guys would shut up and stop comparing the two of them and hope for the best of our beloved JUVENTUS.forza!

I may be mistaken here, but were Vidal and Marchisio playing against each other?

I could have sworn they were playing together against Milan and playing in different roles.
funny you mention that now, scotland. yesterday while eating dinner i thought I may be mistaken here, but were Vidal and Marchisio playing against each other?

2 things here:

1.) He gave up more than "one or two" passes this weekend, and some of them in really bad areas of the pitch. Had Milan been better, we could have been in trouble.

2.) His shooting was horrible, probably just an off day cuz a lot of the times we will see him at least get them on goal (ex. Parma)

~Bad game from him, but not an extension of his abilities. He will pull a better performance I'm sure next game, who knows Pirlo/Marchisio might be as bad in the next game and Vidal will be the one to pull us out. He puts in the effort to overcome it, so I am not worried.

Biggest concern is the pasing and losing possession, he needs to concentrate more on this.
He was also one of the reasons we lost possession as much as we did, he is also one of the reasons why it was so frustrating watching our build ups end watching field goals. Just sayin'
I am not lying. Clearly, Vidal lost the ball enough in bad passing to make it clear I wasn't. Add to that his failed attempts at goal.
Point?

Would that have been before or after our team had to recover from lost possession after a Vidal hail marry?
See, that there is a downright lie. I don't dislike Vidal at all, and my defense of Marchisio stems off of his "unfair criticsm", it just so happens to be I'm one of the few that will defend him. So you guys like to make shit up like I "don't like Vidal". And what "partialities" are you even talking about? Losing possession and off target shooting have more to do with soccer than running hard.
Other players we have had in the past "missed a few passes" as well as worked exceptionally hard. It takes more than running a lot to have a good game, IMO. I just don't think he had a good game, is that a big deal?

For the record, if "certain" other players here missed as many passes as he did, it would be WWIII in their threads. All I am saying is, hard work only gives you part of a "good game tag", mis placed passes resulting in lost possession in vulnerable spots on the field sorta negates the hard work put in by the individual. But hey, at least he got one good shot off.
Ok. Well, losing the ball and having to fight for it back is counter productive. Once or twice ok, but multiple give aways just isn't OK when you play against a team that has Cassano/Ibra/Boatang ready to counter the shit out of you.

"And Marchisio has never worked as hard and will never be able to either." Interesting comment, I guess that could be because Marchisio rarely puts the team under unnecessary pressure in one game so he doesn't really have to.
He doesn't have the stamina, huh? He has played every game so far this season 90+ mins. OK, physically both are different but both do their jobs in their own manners. Vidal as physical as he was against Milan still lost possessin too often.
Linebreak responded to my post, so what do you expect?
:agree: And when i said last week that Marchisio's passing was better than Vidal i get attacked and get labelled a fanboy  the only thing that Vidal got right now on Marchisio is his physical presence and pressing ( he can press higher in the field cause Marchisio stays back and cover for him) .
Don't be fooled by the assist rate that was brought every time, i remember Alen posting videos of his 10 or so assits and none of them was a fantastic pass that broke the defence ( Pirlo like ) and Marchisio is definetely a better passer and superior technique wise, and passing isn't something you forget i watched Vidal in Coppa America and freindlies with Chili and his games with us and i always saw an average passer definetely not better than Marchisio but people will always say oh he had 10 assists in Bundesliga, go see those assists and you'll notice that none of them was a special pass.
And i like Vidal cause his bring another aspect to our game but so far Marchisio is doing a better job thus he's been granted a starting spot.
How can you explain his so so passing games thus far ( Coppa America too, and Chili vs spain ) Did he forget how to pass ??
No i don't blame cause i never saw him as a great passer as some of you do, playing LB or CB don't make you forget how to pass, Marchisio had his share of bad games but passing wise it's clear that he's superior to Vidal as evidence by all the games played this year.
It shouldn't matter where you play on the field, with the exception of the goalie, if any player moves to a different position on the field certain football basics should not deteriorate...and a big one is PASSING.

But hey, being in a new league gives one an excuse to fail at the basics.
And the flip side he missed AT LEAST 4 very simple passes.

At least.
Great minds :D

If Marchisio is average then Vidal is bad passer because as shown by all the games played till now Claudio is better and i love how Marchisio technique is underrated, his one of the most skilled players in our squad, i think only Del piero, Vuci, Pirlo are ahead of him and if you see the first goal he scored against Milan just look when he received the pass from Vidal he was running he stopped the ball to vucinic and moved to space expecting a return pass from Vuci ( wich he did get because Vucinic is an extremely talented player) It was beautiful. So when the haters highlight Vidal strength they should do the same for Marchiso as we :gsol: fanboys :gsol: do fo Vidal.
 Go see the first goal against Milan and see who is the bolder in his pass, All Vidal miss passes were simple pass not some pass that you could say that were intended to break defences like the one Pirlo tries and miss, those are bold pass not some 5 meter digonal pass.
lulz
Sorry, thought it was one of those Vidal vs. Marchisio comparisons again.
That was likely the point of Linebreak posting their passing statistics next to each other, no?

When Conte more than likely switches back to a 4-4-2 they will be competing against each other for a starting spot so I think the comparisons are certainly relevant.

All this discussion (especially the claims that Marchisio was good against Catania, Bologna and Siena) has tempted me to go back and make touch/involvement compilations for both players. Way too much effort though.
