Because of this and the backing Marchisio has, I think Conte will rather play Vidal as a replacement in a number of positions before the designated second choices in injury crises.

I thought he's looked good linking up with other players at times this season but he still doesn't impose himself much on games. He clearly wasn't able to handle the defensive duties in midfield tonight.
