I'm speaking objectively i swear, I wasn't impressed. If you did notice that when he played instead of Marchisio along Pirlo we've been raped in counter because Vidal tend to go forward but his main duty is to cover for Pirlo wich left us exposed in the second half.
I still think that Marchisio will do a better job until Vidal understand his new role and sit back if we playing 2-man MF.

He was doing that because we needed him to do it. We were out of ideas up front and we needed that extra man with grit up there. It would have been a different story had his shot went in in the 88th minute.

Vidal needs to just hover around Pirlo like flies on shit and break up play around him to give him time...Marchisio should have started further forward than Vidal. Marchisio offers more going forward, Vidal offers more defensively. Their roles should have been reversed today.

How do you know that? Vidal didn't just make one run to up top, so clearly if Conte was not OK with it, he could've shouted his lungs out at him not to do it again. But he didn't, he went as far as closely scoring the winning goal for us in the end.

I don't know if Conte was ok with it or no, but for me Vidal didn't do his main job in the second half as he was supposed to and that left us vulnerable for Catania's counters luckily for us they suck. I still think he needs to adapt to his new role.

That's like saying Matri needs to adopt to his new role because he came down to defend a set piece against us when he's supposed to be the one up front trying to score as many goals as possible.
