We did need a midfielder and we still do. Both Radja and Guarin were good options, but not so realistic. We have 4 competitive midfielders at the moment and there's no way we had a chance to sign Radja and offer him a 5th place in our midfield. Not to mention the heavy price that Roma paid for him (it was still a great transfer for them). Guarin might have taken it, but we've seen how that turned out.

Having said that, IMO Radja is a much better player than Guarin, although I wouldn't cry for sure if we signed the Columbian.

Wut? We were one signature away from signing Guarin, the only reason we didn't is that Thohir is an easily manipulated inconsequent little bitch.

I still think Guarin is better in attack than Radja. Since our CMs need to be good around the box, I think he would have made sense here. I would take Radja too of course but Guarin for Mirko was a reasonable deal to me. More reasonable perhaps than spending 18M on a backup CM.

We showed great interest to sign Radja at the beginning of the season, and he wouldn't be given a role of a 5th midfielder. We wanted to sign him in January, but due to our early exit in the CL we altered our plans. We could have effectively rotate all 5 of them without anyone feeling left out. How many games have we wished that Pogba, Vidal, Pirlo get some rest, but every time any one of these 3 is out the difference in quality is obvious. Marchisio is the only good sub that we currently have in the middle and while he was struggling with injuries the next player in line was Padoin; looking at our bench was very depressive sight, and naturally we rarely used Padoin as he's a barely decent football player. I very much believe this lack of rotation contributed to Vidal's current state and his season is probably finished.

Even if that is true there's no way you can compare the minutes that Roma can provide him. Especially the next season, even more if they sell Pjanic, the guy is gonna play a plenty of matches. In Juve he wouldn't see half of that. So IMO it was not really possible to count on that move.

I'm pretty sure we're gonna sign Pereyra as soon as season ends.

Roma wasn't in the game back then and choosing between Roma and Juve is relatively easy choice for majority of the players. You have mediocre team on one side and with 99% certainty Serie A winning team, chance to get some silverware; back then at the beginning of the season before anyone knew how the things will shape up. Of course he would be given less minutes here, but he would be part of the team with aspirations for the biggest achievements.

Yeah I hope we close the deal for Pereyra, he seems like a good squad player.

1) At least try to speak english. i make grammar errors cause i'm not native, but seriously, you dont even try.

2) Guarin is an offensive minded central/attacking midfielder. Nainggolan is a defensive midfielder, and one of the 3 best in serie a. In fact, apart from vidal i cant think of anyone i consider better. One could argue Inler, but pure CDM, Nainggolan is the one i'd take. AND has a good pass, what more do you want.

3) I said "meniscus, ligaments or tendons". Do you even $#@!ing read bro ? If it was any of those, he wouldnt come complain "it still hurted", he wouldnt walk at all. I call tendinitis, thats a TENDON issue, not muscular. Lastly, i said that that the only horror injury he could have was a lesion on a muscular, IF our medical staff made a huge blunder.

A player with tendon damage, muscular damage, lesions, ligament damage would NOT be able to do so.

What vidal has is muscle or tendon trauma that didnt heal well, wich means at worst its a tendinitis.
I bet that my English is better than yours.Which part you don't understand?English is far from my mother language.
Second, stop trying to be an expert for everything like football, injuries ,LIFTING,tactics etc.
Lets read again your post .All what you wrote there is about muscular problems, fatigue etc.Or you think that meniscus is a part of some muscle? So don't be "wise" to avoid that.
As I said before Naingollan is just a muscle man.He can work as a doorman.Comparing him with Vidal is like you never watch any football game in your life.
For you Inler is a good player.
Because you are such an expert just watch the highlights Juve-Napoli 3-0 first part of the season prior Pirlo's free kick goal how Tevez who is 20 centimeters smaller than Inler make a fool of him.Inler is just a leg breaker .He is not a football player.Maybe you watch wrestling so you like Inler.Very good for Juve that you don't draft players for the team.
And don't make silly excuses .Just read your post pretending that you know everything and that is nothing serious with Vidal.
We don't want to buy Radja. Not that we can't.And for the price Roma buys him its stupid.
We can have a simple trade player for player between Mirko-Guarin.Who is wiser?

We have Asa, why conte doesn't rotate players anymore I don't know, peluso and padon can play as lwb, and even ogbonna, but conte became very stubborn person, he has his own plan in his head and he is not going to change it anytime soon

Name is not always what attracts the players. We're talking about a relatively young player who's willing to prove himself and might pack his bags for a world cup. Of course we're much ahead of Roma, but I think it's a pretty scary to see a team with Pogba, Vidal, Pirlo and Marchisio in his spot. We've seen many times players choosing lesser teams in order to develop and get more minutes.

I agree, I think he'd be a pretty sweet signing.

Well, there's no way of knowing that now, only our guessing, but I'm sad that he went to Roma because I see them as a team to look after in the next few years. People who believe that Roma will struggle next season with CL and Serie A couldn't be more wrong. They will add few more signings during the summer and with already formidable team they'll be our main challengers once again.

I am against Naingollan .He is ordinary prick.Guarin is ten times better.Period.
And Vidal DONT HAVE A MUSCULAR PROBLEM BUT A KNEE PROBLEM.ITS MENISCUS .So stop with that theories about muscle injuries. This is not a muscle injure. This is a knee injure which may lead to surgery.Period.He was given a 3 days rest period and after evaluation both our medical and Chile team medical team they will decide whether they will go to a surgery or not.

Come back after some basic english grammar lessons please. Who did you learn it from, Borat?

 pretty much agree with all of that.

Radja also wanted to have plenty of game time (as a sure starter at a big club) to increase his chances to make the Belgian NT. It was always much more likely that he would end up at Roma and not us.
