Question: why we should search for a new midfielder worth around the sum of 30 mil € when we already bought Vidal for 10.5 mil? It just doesn't make any sense. Honestly, I don't see Higuain as the saviour that we are looking for: of course, he is a valuable player, but in my book, Benzema is better than him. Unfortunately, the french-man will remain at Real, so our task is quite simple: find a good striker for the new season. Anyone mentioned by me earlier would fit in, including Dzeko.
That's the preferable solution. But if Dzeko is too expensive on wages, RvP is long gone, Cavani is long gone, etc etc etc I start to wonder if we are economically strong enough to spend the money on a name in this league. I know we're all promised one but we've already spend 50-60m € and another 30-35 just seems unrealistic IMO. Trading our players could be a solution. We've still got Pirlo and Marchisio - it's not like i'm taking down our midfield....

Is this what you meant to say?

No. The obsession of winning. The obsession of returning to former glory > The obsession of keeping likable players at any cost.
If yes, then why does that make you believe that we'd automatically be winning and returning to our former glory if we were to trade Vidal with Higuain? Fixing a department by ruining another is not exactly the right way to do things.

Two problems. One, Asamoah may won't be good enough to take Vidal's role. Second, even if he's going to be sold a la Zidane, we should hang on to him because he's still in his mid 20s and his price would probably double or triple up in the next few years.

Like I said we've already got a solid replacement in Asamoah. I am aware that the quality of the midfield is reduced but in contrary to keep the midfield as it is and keep on going with a poor frontline I say we stick to a solid midfield and solid frontline.
The overall team valuation would increase by signing Higuain and letting Vidal go. But then again, it's just a though. A dark one apparently. And I am just about to say "screw you guys i'm going home" and actually GTFO as all the starry-eyed people here tell me to.

You can get better strikers than Higuain, you can't get better players than Vidal (in his role of course).

Stupidity should be an infraction.

As good as Asamoah may be ,he is not at Vidal's level in my opinion..Highest tackle rate in all of Europe(and this without CL) and i doubt Asamoah could be as good as Vidal in that particular aspect..

In my opinion i consider Vidal as the best B2B midfielder(hint of bias ofcourse)..He only needs to play in CL to confirm it.
