That and he seemed to play further forward. And took all the penalties.
Word. He was almost an AM for Leverkusen and was positioned there for us at the very beginning of the season. Despite poor technique, he's more useful playing further forward (unless Bonucci is one of your CBs) because he keeps the ball in the attacking third.

Indeed lol, this is a guy that reacts first and thinks later hehe when it comes to approaching opponents.

In midfield it works out fine enough since its his expected job to pressure and aggressively go for the ball at every sitaution in that part of the pitch, rarely holds off and anticipiates or read players/sitautions (which is prolly why besides being one of most effective in ballwinning in the league, he is also amongst most dribbled). And to say the least this habit will be punished and be alot more costly in CB then as CM.

Vidal at CB is a recipe for disaster. I doubt his ability to tone it down a couple of notches playing in the back. Yellow Cards and dumb fouls halfway up the pitch are one thing, but those types of actions so close to goal could kill this team

Hence the Montero analogy

He isn't required to press that much as a CB. The majority of fouls he makes is when he runs down players from behind, that won't be a problem.

He had a few moments in the Bologna match where he got in front of Ramirez, anticipated and tackled him perfectly.
