Am I the only one who thinks Vidal is more complete than Gotze?
I think it's impossible to compare them. If you look at the statistics, they will say that Vidal is overall better, or more complete. But Gotze will have a much bigger offensive turnout, which is why we want him. Two different players for two roles, would've loved to have them both tho.

I wonder why this signing happened so fast and for that sum with Bayern? Surely we could have gotten a bidding war between United, Arsenal, Real, PSG and many, many others.
I heard somewhere a theory that we could be more players involved between us and Bayern. Because surely a team like City, Real Madrid or PSG would die for the chance of signing the best box 2 box midfielder in the world.

Strange, innit?
Because Götze.....

You fap for Gotze? He is not even a starter there. Never showed what he did at dortmund. Dont know if he can regain his dortmund form here not knowing the league and wihout self confidence...
Pretty much all players we are linked to are bench players in their teams. We reached the Cl final doesn't mean we are close to being a top side in Europe. Only if we can get to the semis on a regular basis, we should be considered such. It's barca Bayern Madrid than the rest.... Means we also compete vs the cash rich clubs

Ya and Dortmund player's doesn't excel when they leave Dortmund. So not too fond of this Goetze deal

That would have been sick. But what I was referring to is that Vidal covers so much space defensively alongside Marchisio that it's almost impossible to leave opponents out-play us, Gotze offers more offensively but I think Dybala at some point can offer what Gotze offers (minus experience).

I love how KURAC and some other random guy think they know what our management did and did not do in regards to the Vidal sale
Same old shit at new package.Luckily there is someone there who knows all the details about our management and his tiny KURAC pretty well.

The best was not to sell him, if it's done something forced Marotta's hand.

But anyway, Vidal's current value is around 45M I'd say. 28 yr old, knee problems, behaviour problems, only 2 years left on the contract.

Probably the incident in Chile frightened buyers like Real, that's why there was no auction which would have driven the price up.

It looks low to other moves, but:

    - Dybala - 32 +8 - we got ripped in the deal, 32+ 8 is crazily high in view he had only one year left on contract, but he's only 21, and there was an auction with Milan / Inter and we had to pay this to get the guy, as simple as that.

    - Kondogbia - 30 + 5 - also only 21, and bidding war between Inter and Milan.

    - David Luiz - PSG doing stupid / shady business with another oil club. The value is clearly not related to the player's quality. PSG also paid like 40M for Lucas when he played in Brazil, it was a joke already at the time. They are not reference for anything.

    - Sterling - we're talking about fucking City looking for Brit talent. It's another world.

So if the total price is 40M (including bonus), it's a slight underpay from the correct 45M fee.

We also have to see how they may pay it, if it's upfront money it's normal to decrease the value.

So the fee is not that absurd to me, only a slight underpay (if confirmed). Maybe Marotta's hand was forced. What I want to know is if he had a solution lined up for this. Concluding the deal before getting the solution is a mistake.
