Sounds like a weak deal to me. Especially considering theyre taking two players in the same position.
Agreed, 16m plus Vieira for Del Piero and Trezeguet doesn't sound like a very good deal on Arsenal's part. If we end up losing Emerson to Real Madrid I'd have to say yes to this offer but I reckon Emerson, Vieira, Del Piero, Henry and Trezeguet are all staying where they are.

probably because they're both great ball-winners, but neither of them have enough attacking ability to help out in going forward.

We'd probably concede fewer goals with Emerson and Vieira next to each other, but our attacking plays would become very predictable, because we'd probably be forced to do most of our attacking down the wings (especially if we don't get a pure playmaker to lurk between midfield and attack)

In fairness though we've hardly been creative as it is, with Blasi and Emerson being our usual midfield duo.

true, maybe I should have said even more predictable

but we're (hopefully) working on signing a better attacking player to line up next to Emerson e.g. a player in the Pizarro/Rosicky mould

The key word being hopefully. We've been waiting for a player in that mould for at least 3/4 seasons now.. at least as long as I've been on these forums and Moggi and his cronies have always disappointed. I see no reason why thats about to change but, like a fool, I'll stay hopeful anyhow.

Rosicky would be an absolute dream btw. Rosicky-Nedved-Emerson-Mutu-Zlatan is a pretty formidable section of a team.

Playmakers are overrated; playing with two wingers and two defensive midfielders is the best option
That really depends on who we play up front. Trez and Zlatan are tall and decent in the air (though Zlatan needs a lot of work on his aerial game), so they'd be useful players to have up-front when the crosses are being pumped in by Zambro/Camo and co.

On the other hand, if our attack consists of Del Piero/Mutu/Cassano, then I don't really think all of that wing play would bear much fruit.
