Plus and most importantly, we only have 2 pure defensive midfielders; Nocerino and Sissoko, why to get rid of one of them. We at least should have 4 players who can play at the centre midfield. We as well have Camo, but I don't want us to waste him in the centre.

The real fight is between Nocerino and Marchisio, not Nocerino and Sissoko or Zanetti. Im not sure which of two we must keep, huge fact, that gives Antonio a big + over his opponent, is that he has played more regurarly for Juventus than Claudio have played for Empoli. Nocerino definetly is better Gatusso, and Marchisio is nowhere near Makelele, so my option would be to keep the pitbull from Naples, and try to find space for Marchisio, if possible.

Nocerino is very limited technically , but like Gatusso , tries to make up for it with ridiculous amounts of running . I think Ranieri likes these kinds of players , Molinaro , Nocerino , Iaquinta etc.... Players who like to run for the fuck of it .

Nocerino played marvelous games before the injury of Zanetti. The problem isn't whether Antonio is a good player or not more than being who partners him. For example when Sissoko partnered him in Sicily, many people thought that Antonio was playing a horrible match. We wanted to attack and we're placing two destroyers, and in that case a Sissoko-Nocerino partnership wasn't useful.

No he did not, Ahmed. The only thing marvelous in his play was his running while everything else, especially his passing, was just terrible. Even his tackling was way off after October. The only time when he played well was the first two months of the season.

Nocerino has been misused for much of this season.

He is a pure destroyer who needs someone beside him to distribute the ball for him i.e Zanetti rather than Sissoko. He has been used too high up the pitch this season which exposes his technical deficiencies.

His positioning is good, as is his work rate. His passing and tackling need to improve if he if to be a Juve player in the longer term.

So out of those Zanetti looked great, and Nocerino did not disappoint as much as Almiron or Tiago. So obviously we think Zanetti and Nocerino are doing a great job. Then Nocerino has a dip in his form, and we say "it's okay, he's still young".

And then Sissoko joins us. It's really after Sissoko comes in that we realize just how much we lack in the midfield. Even Zanetti who has been good for us was overshadowed by Sissoko's performances. Really. Sissoko's passing is way better than Nocerino. His tackling is frighteningly accurate, he rarely loses the ball when in a duel and he can push forward and help his team in attack. Nocerino can do none of those. It's only then that we see just how inferior Nocerino (and to some extent Zanetti) is to compared to a world class destroyer. And consider this : Nocerino and Sissoko are almost the same age.

however I still can see a bit of hope for Nocerino, hence why I would be in favor of loaning him or co-owning him.

Zanetti isn't a pure destroyer, he's more of a centre midfielder, a passer who can balance a team.

Getting Flamini would be good especially on a free transfer, but I'm against sacrificing one of our Italian youngsters - who is still 2 years younger than Flamini and has only played on top level for one season - in favour of any other player. Actually it depends, but in case of Nocerino, I'm with nurturing Antonio.

Although I have to disagree about Zanetti , he's a completely diffent player from Momo or Rino , he is a distributer more than he is a destroyer . That's why Nocerino can perform beter alongside him rather than alongside Momo , the same goes for Momo .

Zanetti , has the vision and tactical awareness that Momo lacks while Momo has the speed and tackling that Zanetti lacks . That's why they make a very good partnership while when Nocerino and Momo don't . Look at any partership in EUrope and you'll see that there's almost always a destroyer followed by a creator if you will .
