Nocerino the 120th Juventus footballer to play for Italy

It was an important Wednesday for all Juventus players playing for their National teams around Europe. For different reasons, many of them are happy after the National games break.

And the happiest has to be Antonio Nocerino. Called up for the first time, the Naples-born midfielder came on in the second half of the Siena friendly against South Africa (2-0, with two Lucarelli goals), thus becoming the 120th Juventus footballer to play for Italy. The last player before him to enter this special list had been Iaquinta. Meanwhile, it was the 7th cap for Chiellini, who played the whole 90 minutes.

Juve - 120 players/ 1821 caps/ 236 goals
Inter - 95/ 1336/ 201
Milan - 80/ 1099/ 105

Quite surprising that Inter have so many, esp in relation to Milan.

Not so surprising. Inter are 100 years old, and for the first 80 years were an Italian side. Their relocation to Buenos Aires is a fairly recent development.

I meant it was surprising when you consider that the reason Inter exist is because their founders were unhappy about the number of Italians in the Milan side & thus founded their own club, meaning the whole reason Inter exist is so they can have foreign players & yet despite being a younger club they have had more Italian players than Milan.

Ohhh, that is because Inter, during the ban on all foreign signings following Italy's defeat in the 1970 WC Final, was forced to concentrate on Italian talent while Milan was busy rounding up every former Nazi war criminal returning from exile in South America, giving them a copy of Italian for Idiots (Italiano per le cafoni e Burke), teaching the tune to the National Anthem and giving them a red & black shirt.
