You really didn't expect Nocerino to stay here and play every game, did you? The competition at Juve is really big, so he probably would've played in Coppa games only and we would have not been able to really see his worth. At Fiorentina he can play a lot of games in Serie A, and if he's good we'll take him back.

If Nocerino makes himself a established Serie A player this season, which he's still not, than we will certainly make a bid for him to get him back. He's still a a gamble and getting 3mil for him in a co-owner deal is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

The bottom line is no one in their right mind would put him over Zanetti, let alone Tiago and Almiron. Plus we have Marchisio as well, who needs playing time as well, so his chances of playing in the centre of our midfield were pretty slim from the get go. Fiorentina is a great place to be for a youngster anyway.

I disagree. I didn't expect to see him play for Juve this season but I think he's got great potential and I think its a mistake letting him go to fiorentina for 2 reasons.
1) I think he'll do well this season and they are direct rival for CL places.
2) I he does well we have to splash out more money than what we got for him.. We got a little money sure, but its 3mil ffs it ain't gonna change anything regarding our transfer campaign. IMO we should have loaned him out to smaller serie A club. They would pay his wages this season and we could evaluate him next season and decide to sell or keep him. I just dont make any sence to me this deal..

1. You CAN NOT know whether he will have a succesfull season next term, you simply can't, sorry. He's a youngster with potential, that's it, whether he makes it or not is a 50-50% gamble.

2. Even if he makes a name for himself I sincerely doubt he will be the sole reason that cost us a CL place.

3. 3mil is not peanuts, it can help wages and it can help fund a transfer. Whether or not he succeds next season doesn't mean we have to splash out anything big. Co-ownership deals are a simple gamble, two envelopes, 2 bids and the bigges bid gets the player. I think we'll always have the bigger pocket than Fiorentina,as the past thought us already.

Loaning him out to a smaller club wouldn't have been as effective. Prandelli is one of the best coaches out there and he does wonders with youngsters, plus in Fiorentina he will fight for big honours, he will have a competitive squad in which he has a shot at a first team place, here he doesn't.

At the end keeping him was always a plus imo, he wanted to get more playing chances and obviously we can't offer him that. I hope he gets that with the Viola and get nurtured under a good coach in Prandelli.

Keeping Gianni or even Blasi could ultimately be a better option as we need some experienced players coming of the bench or as backup players and won't demand much.

Wrong. Juventus will set the price for buying 100% of his contract and thus the amount of money could be the same or even less, depending on his market value next season.

I agree that loan deal would be better but this is good too.

Fiorentina and Napoli target Antonio Nocerino will not leave Juventus this summer, sporting director Alessio Secco has confirmed.

The Azzurrini star recently signed a three-year contract with the Old Lady after spending last season at Piacenza in a co-ownership deal, but seemed on the verge of a Viola move this week.

However, Secco has insisted on Thursday that the combative central midfielder will be at Claudio Ranieri’s disposal next term.

“Nocerino will stay here at Juventus and will join the rest of the squad for pre-season training in Pinzolo,” noted the Bianconeri official [pictured].

The midfielder, who was born in Naples and was heavily linked with a San Paolo switch, recently admitted that he was eager to be granted continuous playing time during next season.

“My target is the 2010 World Cup in South Africa,” noted the youngster when asked about his future.

“In order to reach that objective I need to play with continuity and Juventus are doing all they can to help me.

"Piacenza was a springboard, now I need to prove myself in the football that really counts.”

Despite this morning’s developments, whispers in Turin suggest that Nocerino may still move on before the window closes with Udinese said to be another possible destination.
