Juve's Candreva bid hits rocks
Monday 18 January, 2010

Juventus are prepared to launch another bid for Antonio Candreva, but Tuttosport understands Livorno aren't inclined to accept.

The Bianconeri have made Candreva their No 1 priority in January, because of his ability as a ball playing central midfielder.

However, given Livorno's relegation battle, Aldo Spinelli, the club's President, isn't prepared to let the 22-year-old leave without an adequate replacement.

That puts Genoa in pole position to sign Candreva, as they have already offered Spanish midfielder Alberto Zapater in exchange.

The Italy international will only move on loan until the end of the season though as his contract is owned by Udinese who have been shipping him out to Livorno since 2008.

Tuttosport believes Juventus would offer Momo Sissoko as a bargaining chip if the Mali international returns from the African Nations Cup before the transfer window closes.

However, even though that may seem unlikely, one thing is clear and that is Juventus's frustration with Sissoko primarily because he is always getting injured.

It remains distinctly unlikely, though, that a player of Sissoko's standing who has also been linked with Bayern Munich would move to Livorno.

Spinelli said he'll take DC, Gio or Zalayeta on loan. Give em' the panther and we're good.

Ah, i was thinking he was loaned out to someone though so I was confused how the deal would happen. Well, I guess that is one player we could part ways with.

that bs with sissoko as "bargaining chip" doesn't derive from the tuttosport article about candreva. i just checked today's issue. the author from channel4 must have misunderstood something.

i don't wanna defend tuttosport at all, but on this forum this newspaper has too much of a bad reputation. one just cannot believe all the transfer rumours, but the inside information they provide on juventus is mostly true.
