So, first we sell a CB wonder kid that came through our own youth ranks and had a decent spell at Roma for friggin 18M to Bournemouth.

Only to chase another CB wonder kid from a different league for 35M and who's currently benched.
Watch Madrid pay Bournemouth 40+ mill for Huijsen

We are absolutely terrible at selling players and always over pay

Yeah, because it's obvious we are in need of short term solutions, so we settle for plusvalenza instead of fair valuation. Basically meaning we are selling youth players or with low book value and only buy from Italian clubs in 20 installments. Benfica aren't such cucks, they'll want a fair price.

But €30M buy option? He ain't that.

Benfica is notorious for pumping up youth prospects and cashing in hard on hype that doesn't deliver to the marketing.
No he is 20m option. The extra 10m is commission split between guintoli and benfica and the agents. If you look at 20m cost it’s not so bad

The art of the deal. Just imagine how much money Jungtoli made off of the David Luiz deal. Dude is so good.

If you are FM player, you will know this kid, in my current save I am using Preston. Liverpool bought him for 51m euro in the last day of 24/25 summer transfer( I think they projected him as VVD replacement) and his price range shoot to 229-251m valuation after around 2 seasons

FM really rates him highly, as he has great physical, mental and all of the technique needed to be a great ball playing defender with intelligent playing style. With the best personality in the game basically he will become a great leader in the future. Almost feels like you buying a "Cristiano Ronaldo" of defender

Bruh.

Aleksandr Prudnikov, Salvatore Foti and Sotiris Ninis were the best wonderkids on FM08.

There is a Football Manager thread to discuss video games this one is about real-world football.

According to
@DAZN_IT
Aston Villa are very close to securing the signing of Antonio Silva. The deal will be a loan with an option to buy for €45 million. :D
Bullet dodged or just a Benfica method to raise the price for Giuntoli?

Wonder why would Benfica, who generally sells only at huge profits would be interested in a loan with low option to buy for what is regarded as a generational talent CB… the fee rumored to be offered by Aston Villa seems closer to one that would be deemed as reasonable via option to buy formula and not obligation.
